Title: What Does Mateo Know? ****** I Got up and got dressed, once Lilly got up to use the bathroom. I had to hurry, because by the time I was dressed the sink water was already running. I had about 25 seconds to get out the door (no pressure). Before I left, I realized that I didn't want Lilly to freek out when she realizes that I'm gone so I write a quick note that reads: BRB don't go crazy, I'm fine. Well, she's probably going to k!ll me when I get back, but I need to know what Mateo knows. Just when I hear the sink water stop running I rush out the door and lock it and run off campus. **** "This better be good." That's the first thing I say to Mateo when I see him sitting on the side of the enchanted lake. "Ummm, yeah," Mateo scratched the back of his head and mumbles, "I'm sure it will be." I give him a questioning look and he signals for me to sit down. I sat down in front of him. He just stares at the ground. He takes a deep breath and says, "I lied when I said I might know who did it, the truth is I do know who did." "That's not really a lie, Mateo." "Via, what I'm gonna tell you is a really big deal and if you tell anyone I could be in so much trouble." "Wait what?" The sun is starting to rise and people will be coming here soon and we won't have any privacy. He looks up at me and locks his eyes with mine. He opens his lips to speak, but then everything goes dark.
