ANOTHER ONE!! i’m working my way through (he’s meant to be looking at his reflection in some spooky water btw) second inspo song for this one was FORMALDEHYDE by CALYPSO lore time! Name —> Ajax Gender —> Male Species —> A sort of “grim reaper” in the form of a feline. Personality Traits —> Serious, stoic, intelligent, confident, open-minded. Ajax was not much unlike your average civilian. In a world where animals are the equivalent to humans, he was a simple cat with a market job as a florist despite his intimidating appearance that suggested he did more brutal work. He also worked as a merchant, wandering and transporting items. He became a glorified businessman. Everyone wished to trade with him even for the sake of a simple bragging right. He left this life behind when a tragic secret was revealed. Ajax had made his way to one of the most luxurious kingdoms in his world, and there he discovered that he was descended from the feline bloodline that ruled the kingdom. His birth had been the result of the king (long gone by now) and a town beauty, an affair that had the king scrambling to keep his reputation intact. He sent the maiden away while she was with child, threatening her with death if she ever returned. Ajax was raised by his mother, and she hadn’t protested his wishes to travel. She secretly hoped that he would find his lineage on his own, and he had. Caught in a war between himself and his half-brother, the son of their late father and the queen, Ajax was overwhelmed. He came to an unfortunate end one night, ambushed in his hiding place. He “woke up” in the middle of nowhere, completely aware that he was dead. The area was like a forest, but it was dark and covered in red-tinted foliage. Ajax wandered, never seeming to get hungry or require rest. He was only ever thirsty, so, so thirsty. It wasn’t long until he discovered small red flowers that had begun to stick onto his fur, though the catch was that they weren’t stuck there, they were actually growing from his skin. A bit mortified, Ajax attempted to pull them out, but the pain was too severe and they didn’t budge anyway. He began to see ghosts in his afterlife. Quiet, transparent spirits of animals that didn’t pay attention to him, but rather the flowers his body was growing. Ajax soon discovered a pool of oddly-colored water, and the same flowers that grew from him floated on top of it. He stayed nearby to use it to quench his thirst, which he had found was linked to sustaining the flowers growing on him, and never stepped into it on account of he was a feline and wasn’t fond of the water. One day, though, he was startled by a spirit as he drank, and he fell right in. He was transported to a new place, what appeared to be the inside of a house, in the room of a small child. He was back in the real world. The child’s parents knelt at his bedside, soothing and whispering prayers, but the child was obviously ill. Ajax stayed, unable to move from the room, until the child’s spirit rose from the body and looked to him. From there on the message was clear. His job was to guide spirits back to his world. Whenever a spirit needs to be collected, the flowers on his body lean towards the pool, and there he continues his duty.
