I rushed out of the Headmistress’ room, crying. My mom was dead. My dad betrayed me and went with the Amelia Riddle, and he too, was dead. My grandparents were missing. My mom’s brother was missing. My brother was abroad, on Egypt, studying how to cure a blood curse. What, oh what would I tell him when he went back? I stayed in the dorm all day, refusing to talk to anyone. Finally, Andromeda had enough, for a reason. “Fine.” She said kindly. “It’s alright if you don’t wanna talk.” “MY MOTHER’S DEAD YOU IDIOT!” I shouted. She kept quiet. “She-she’s dead?” She asked. Everyone stared at me. Celeste and Dahila left the room. They needed to give me some privacy. Andromeda went out as well. When she came back, she pushed Aiden, Harriet, and Everard, my second cousin, into the room. She looked at me sadly. “I don’t know what can ease your pain, but I’m sure that they will comfort you.” She closed the door. “Not me! She’s gonna kill me for breaking her glass figures!” Everard yelped. He unlocked it and shut it. I didn’t care. I sat on the bed and buried my face in my hands. Harriet placed a hand on my shoulder. I slapped her hand. Aiden stopped me. “Don’t touch me.” I snapped. I reached out to slap Aiden face. He kicked my shin so badly that I wanted to scream. “WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!” I screamed. He clapped a hand over my mouth and hugged me. Harriet joined in. At that moment, I burst into tears.
