Pigeonripple used to be a warrior in ThunderClan, but she got upset when Raggedstar didn't like her and left. Raggedstar had led her, while she was still an apprentice, into a fox snare for healing two SkyClan warriors without his permission and she was later on taken by twolegs, who declawed her and removed her bad leg. She ran away to SkyClan, and because of the loss of her claws, was made a medicine cat. She did have some herb knowledge from ThunderClan's previous medicine cat, so that's how she was able to heal the SkyClan warriors. And then, learning that she was still alive, Raggedstar intentionally started a fire in SkyClan territory and Pigeonripple was burned on her back trying to protect the kits.
