Pictured here is an American citizen watching Farlandian troops march by. Population: After the American-Farlandian War, which is now being named the "War of Lost Hope", many citizens have been unexpectedly and suddenly separated from family, friends, and their money. In order to start paying off the reparations, taxes have increased by a large margin, and citizens asked to conserve food. Although a ibt of foreign help is given by Farlandia and other such nations, this still has not been able to get the GUSA out of the depression they've spiraled into. Due to many Americans now being citizens of new countries, and being unable to leave those countries easily, the GUSA has experienced a loss of almost 30% of its population. Citizens, in general, have begun to lose hope in America, some claiming, "the American Dream is nothing but a false icon of a long lost era." some citizens even emigrating to another democratic country. American citizens in Falandian territories have found their lives affected as well, tons of laws being changed, some of them opposing the constitution. Even in mainland GUSA, laws have begun to e changed, and although the new President Harry (George had resigned a few weeks after the surrender) had assured the American people that he American Govt was still in full control, but the presence of multiple nations military marching in and out, and the obvious Farlandian diplomats constantly visiting the capital, the American people have their doubts. Economy: The economy has taken a great plunge down, especially with all the reparations, the rebuilding effort, and the new Rebellions taking place here and there. Money has been printed rapidly, but then that only caused major inflation. taxes have been raised, but it only caused unrest among the American people. Military: After the War of Lost Hope, many military soldiers have been displaced,(as they had been in territories now occupied by foreign nations) deserted, or forced to go home because of the cuts needed in the military budget. The military has been majorly cut back, considering they have been defeated by multiple nations and is puppeted, so they don't need to fully rely on their military for defense anymore. Many military vets returning home have had lots of trouble fitting back in. Government: The Governmental positions, the constitution, and pretty much the entire foundation of the GUSA has now been shook and cracked now that the GUSA has been puppeted. many citizens wonder if they will continue to have their constitutional rights anymore considering they couldn't do anything about it if they didn't have them anymore. Unrest: all of these problems have cause great unrest and even multiple large rebellions within the GUSA, although not a full blown civil war, the now diminished ad war-weary military has been having trouble crushing the rebellions.
