When I was 3 - 6 years old the few main channels I grew up on were Disney Jr., Nick Jr., PBS Kids, and Sprout (Later Known as Universal Kids). When I reached my 7 - 10s, I moved to the more common ones, Standard Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network (I miss their 2010's eras), Disney XD, and Discovery Family. Discovery Family was a special one, because I soon grew attached to almost every cartoon on the channel. (Except littlest pet shop, that show was BLEGH). Although the schedule was garbage, (like seriously, the stuff that was targeted towards males started at 5:00 and ended at 9:00, everything after that was non-stop MLP and Littlest Pet Shop.) I remember getting up early just so I can catch a glimpse of Transformers Prime, and Zak Storm, MAN I miss that show. Pound Puppies and Rescue Bots were always a treat, but the show that I loved the most was G.I. Joe. A long while ago I was staying the night at my Grandma's house, and I couldn't sleep because of a stupid clock's ticking noise. It was like 4:30, and I was watching TV to pass the time. I eventually changed the channel to DFC and it was playing some magic YoYo ninja cartoon or smth like that. I was about to change channels, and then G.I. Joe came on. I loved it, and I soon found out that my dad actually grew up with it. Whenever I had the chance I would get up at 5:00 and watch it. I was pretty sad when they took it off the air, (Luckily I found a complete series DVD at Walmart recently and bought it.) and boy that was only the beginning. This year I found out that Hasbro's agreement/contract with DFC (it was called The Hub/Hub Network at the time) expires in March of next year, which means all Hasbro properties will slowly but surely be removed and replaced by Warner Bros. properties. I feel hopeless. I loved this channel and it makes me furious that they can do something like this. If Hasbro actually TRIED, the channel might have been successful, and an opportunity for another contract could have been made. Right now I am trying to watch every Hasbro cartoon they still have, even if it's girly like MLP. I'll still watch it, because I grew up on it, and I want to enjoy the memories for just a little longer. Now if you excuse me, I will now go cry in the corner along with the entire brony community and all the G.I. Joe fans.
