…Hi. Wow, it feels so weird to be back on Scratch. It feels like it’s been a lifetime. So weird to think about how much I used this site 4-7 years ago, compared to how beyond commenting on my own profile I barely ever use it now. I hope everyone’s doing well. I know all the friends I’ve made on this website are all long-inactive, moved onto bigger and better things. I hope they have. I hope they’re doing well. If you’re one of them and you happen to read this, hello! So… where do I begin? For one thing, I’m not a kid anymore. I just started my first semester of college. So far things are going well. I think my future looks bright. I’m still an artist and I still love storytelling. I got into a writing club and made friends, and I’m hopefully going to be a media major. But I’m still myself. I still love cartoons, musicals (Starkid especially!), Skeppy and BadBoyHalo, video games (hyped for the Bendy movie!!), and storytelling, and I’m trying to explore what stories I want to tell in college. I’m still a good student. I’d like to think I’m less temperamental, though I still slip up sometimes. What brings me back to Scratch? I’m… not totally sure. Closure, I guess? This website was essential in forming my sense of self throughout my elementary and especially middle school years. I kinda just disappeared without saying anything. High school made my life really busy, and eventually Scratch felt less important for me. While I still love using computer applications, I think I’m better with the practical internet applications than coding. I dabbled in a bit of JavaScript in a web design class this past year and it was fun to get to code again, but I’m not sure if it’s where my passion lies. I think I was meant to be a storyteller. So where do I go from here? I don’t know. But I don’t think I’m going to be really active on a scratch anymore. I may make like a final goodbye animation- one last story for the road- but for the most part I think my time on Scratch has come to an end. I’d like to thank everybody here for giving me an unforgettable experience during those years of my life. Thanks to the artists that inspired me, the friends I made in various studios, the people I fought with during my first months here, potatobear616 for giving me my own little corner of internet fame by association, my fantastic IRL friends, my Tech-Ed teacher @macdirty for inspiring me during my time on Scratch to push my creative abilities, and all of you for taking the time to view my projects. It’s been a heck of a ride, and I’m very happy to have taken it. Until next time, - GL456
