I braided my hair in a single, neat braid. Today, I was so nervous. It was a match between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. I decided that it wouldn't hurt if I wore Jake's gift. After all, he wouldn't be able to see it in the weather. I took my broom and first headed to the Great Hall, deciding against eating anything mid-way, I went straight to the ground. The crowd made me nervous and I regretted not eating anything. Just then I heard a voice, not just any voice. It was Harry. "Hey, don't skip breakfast or you won't be able to play. Here, take this toast", he said as he shoved a toast wrapped in napkin in my hands. "Thanks", I replied as I smiled weakly. Quickly finishing the sandwich, I came out ready to play. The match began. I took my place, letting my eyes float to any incoming Quaffle while I also saw Cho flying around for the Snitch. Suddenly, I saw Jake with the Quaffle as he threw it towards us. With ease, I blocked his shot, though it was a close save. I smirked at his disappointed face. "Looks like someone needs practice", I replied. The match went on, and I made a lot of saves. "You're doing good", I heard Jake say. I ignored. "I don't fraternize when I am focusing on winning", I said without any emotion. Without a word, Jake disappeared. Just then, I saw a Bludger heading straight towards me. I took a dive, saving myself. "That was not planned, guys!", I shouted as I missed diverting the Quaffle because of the distraction. Continuing with the match, I decided to just take a little break. I was tired. I closed my eyes for a moment, my ears working instead of my eyes for the minute. I heard someone scream and to my horror, it was Jake. He was dangling from his broom with just one hand and looking at the wind, it was not easy to stay like that. He was losing altitude too, so I had to act fast. I veered my room down, and as I neared Jake, I held onto his broom with one hand. "You come over on my broom.", I said, keeping my voice hostile rather than friendly. "I...I can't", Jake mumbled. "Well, you must or you die", I replied as urgency filled my voice. "But I can't! I am losing my grip!", Jake said as he looked at me. "But you must! I can't lose you!", I cried out, tears filling my voice. I could never lose Jake. "Come, fast. I can't hold your broom for this long!", I said as I bent low. He kept his other hand on my shoulder, and lowered himself, sliding down behind me. "Grab my waist stupid, Do you want to fall off?", I yelled against the wind as I tried to mantain the balance. He followed wordlessly. "I will have to land.", I replied as I saw his broom fall down. Jake didn't reply. I landed and I left before he could thank me. As I flew, I felt as if something was wrong and then I realised. Slytherin had won. If only I hadn't helped Jake, but I knew deep down that I wouldn't be able to be happy with the thought that I had left Jake when he needed help, if I had chosen victory rather than whatever I had done. When I finally came down, Harry was waiting for me. "You did awesome!", he exclaimed. "Sure, Harry. Sure I did.", I replied rolling my eyes. "I am so sorry, I know you worked hard and put our faith in me but that Draco just-" "I get it Cho, it's fine really.", I replied. I moved my hand to feel the polished surface of my pendant but it was gone. Where was it? Then I remembered something falling off when I took off again after dropping Jake safely on the ground. "Oh no", I muttered as I walked back to my dorm to change. I would come to look for my pendant after getting into more comfortable and clean clothes.
