We have all heard stories and folklore about death. They usually include someone or something being punished for doing wrong, but this story is different. We dont always get what we deserve, and we dont always get justice. And most importantly, we dont always get happy endings.... Zyon wasn't always like the monster that people think. He was in fact a beautiful creature before, but unlike his looks, his life wasn't all that beautiful. He lived with his mother, Syrah, his brother, Onzo, and his sister Alpia. He had always felt like the peacemaker between his family when his siblings and his mother were fighting. Before him, it was more of his dad´s job, he kept the family together and happy, that is, until the great Battle came, he had to leave along with the other Great Ones in his village. Every day young Zyon would wait for his father to come home, but he never came, so he took on the job his father took. He wanted to not only take care of his family, but carry on his father, Narzion´s, legacy. His mom had named him after his father because she always believed he could be as great as him, and so that's what got Zyon to keep believing and wanting to carry on the legacy. Unfourtuantly, his brother had always had other ideas. He had a tendancy to get into trouble with the whole village, thats what usually caused family fights. His sister was quiet, and though she sometimes went along with his brothers antics, she had a good heart. But one day, it went too far. Zyon and his siblings had been walking through the village market because their mom told them to buy some food. ¨Why is all this so expensive?¨ asked Alpia, looking around at the labels of the goods. ¨Thats all the valuable stuff, Alpia, dont expect it to be low price. See that arrowhead? its one of a kind, said to have magic. Of course its going to be that expensive¨ explained Zyon, pointing to the arrowhead. Alpia just rolled her eyes and walked over to Onzo, who had a mischievous glance on his face, but that was normal in Zyon´s eyes. Zyon´s father told him about the Arrowhead, he said that it could mess with minds. His father had told him a story on how a whole village turned on eachother, even kin. Zyon always shuddered at the idea, but his thoughts were interrupted with a loud BANG. Zyon whipped around to see his siblings facing him and the whole crowd circled around them. Alpia and Onzo´s pupils were dilated and the whites of their eyes black and their veins purple. On the ground was the arrowhead, the tip covered with a hint of bl00d. Zyon backed up, but his siblings just came closer, he noticed that their pawprints were tinted red. ¨They must have touched the arrowhead¨ Zyon thought. His father had never told him about this happening, but then again, Zyon always got too scared for his father to continue the stories, and now he regretted it. Suddenly his siblings opened their mouths and let out a siren like scream, Zyon covered his ears as he watched the crowd turn into the same thing his siblings did. He didnt know how the arrowhead could have gotten into the market, but it didnt matter now because now everyone was facing him with those black eyes, but instead of a full on black, their eyes just flickered until they went normal, everyone except Alpia and Onzo. One wolf in the crowd turned to Alpia and Onzo, then back to Zyon ¨What did you do to them? This is all your fault!¨ He exclaimed, but his voice sounded...distorted. Everyone started throwing blame at Zyon, until the leader of the village, Ukana, came. She looked down at Zyon and asked ¨Did you do this?¨ she said, looking into his eyes. someone in the crowd answered for him ¨Yes he did! We all saw!¨ they said, thats when something flickered in Ukana´s eyes. ¨So it was you¨ She said, everyone in the crowd nodded and looked at Zyon ¨You have wrecked the lives of these young souls, Zyon, your own kin. How sick. You will be punished¨ Zyon gave her a horrified look but was interupted by a choking sound. He spun around to find his siblings on the ground, tears came into his eyes as he looked at them. He ignored the hatred he got from the crowd and the cursing chants that were about him. Evil had consumed his siblings, and he could feel it consuming him. He had nothing to do with this, yet he was the one to blame. He touched Alpia and Onzo´s paws and then he felt a burning sensation and his world went black. When he woke up, he wasn’t in his village. Instead, he was in a marsh, next to him a huge weeping willow. It seemed like it was the middle of the night, he hadn’t known how long he was knocked out for and he didn’t know how he got to where he was. We stood up and stared at his legs in panic. They were a whole different color, and they were as skinny as sticks. He looked up and noticed there was a boat in some mucky water. The only light source was a lamp.
