So this is where image quality goes to die Welcome to this year's Inktober project! I didn't get to finish last year after shattering the screen of the device I was working on at the same, so this'll be lovely. I improved a LOT doing this challenge last year too, which I'm quite excited to see again this time. Feel free to keep checking for updates! #1, Backpack. Just a silly little crow-inspired Zelda merchant type character with shinies to sell. I actually like the background on this one. I think it's quite nice. #2, Discover. Sometimes there are mimics instead of the treasure you hoped for, and that's okay. I love fire hair, and I think I stylized it real well. The background on this one is also considerably lazier than last time. #3, Boots. Cool person with cool shoes. Would you believe me if I said this took 5-6 hours? I wasn't feeling it until the coloring stage, but I pushed through and made what is now one of my favorite drawings. 4#, Exotic. Looked up the word for inspo, saw a dragonfruit. The initial idea was 'fae masquerade ball gown', but morphed into 'fruity vampire'. I'm not mad about this. #5, Binoculars. Whoa guys look at that color scheme crazy huh. Anyways, silly merfolk child! I imagine they like looking at birds. #6, Trek. Kind of made me think of hiking(Edit- I did not know that one of the next prompts would literally be 'hike'). I like the boots. I feel that this series is slowly evolving into 'Aspen Draws Pretty people. Truly, I can't be mad. #7, Passport. I almost didn't know what to do with this one. I based the pallet and shading, which I really like, off of passport photos, and added sort of an inky motif, seeing as passports are printed. , Hike. This one was very rushed. I had about an hour to finish(because it was 11:00) once the lineart was done, but I think it looks great regardless. , Sun. So. I was very torn between celestial-body-inspired-character and the animatronic. Then I remembered what I'm doing this Halloween(Security Breach costumes with friend group). So I dressed up my sona(who I still need to make refs for)! , Nomadic. Looked up 'nomadic animals' and silky shark came up. I had three hours to finish this(started at 9:00), so the background was made in like, less than ten minutes. I still like it. I also love the freckles. They're one of my favorite character design features. , Snacks. I'll be honest. I wasn't feeling it. Took a nap in the late afternoon and woke up at like 1 in the morning. I'm not even mad. , Remote. Wasn't feeling it today either as I had just made a fully rendered DTIYSE that morning, but I put on Lemon Demon and fell into the hyperfocus. I didn't think I was going to like this piece, but I do. He's my child now. , Horizon. Of course I drew Aloy. Her design is very complicated(especially her hair, which I spent way too long trying to figure out how it worked before remembering I have the Lego minifigure to reference), but it didn't take as long as I thought it would. , Roam. Sketched the pose out and accidentally turned it into Grian while adding details. The brainrot is real.(it's only going to get worse by the end of the week) , Guidebook. She's doing a TED Talk. This was so rushed I have no words. I'm not a fan of the colors, either. I am, however very excited for tomorrow's prompt. , Grungy. Did a little research on the aesthetic for inspo, came up with this. I like it! (Still drawing pretty people with piercings and cool makeup haha) , Journal. Of course it's Bipper. You should have expected nothing less. , Drive. Burnout might be on the way, as I had no DRIVE(haha) to create. But I made this. It's two layers. (Fun fact, minus the earrings I have this outfit in real life) , Ridge. Of course I did something from Wild Life. (Yap and mild spoiler(?) warning)For those not in the know, Wild Life is the sixth season of the Life Series, a Minecraft SMP on YouTube. Everyone involved dropped their first episode today, and I've seen over half of them already. I may have acquired a bit of a hyperfixation. This scene is from GoodTimesWithScar's POV, in which he died by falling off a cliff while singing, after saying "Everything the light touches is ours." Anyways, this is the second time I've ever officially made Hermit/Lifer fanart. I'm definitely vibing with it. Maybe be prepared for more. , Uncharted. Me and bro when we find an island not on any of the maps Didn't have too much time, so this is another low-effort piece. The guys featured are two of my D&D characters. , Rhinoceros. Went through an emotional rollercoaster as I wasn't feeling it, was suddenly hit with an absolute WAVE of inspiration, and then it left me. We're not drawing today. , Camp. They're like bug-catching or something? I've never been to summer camp, I don't know what goes on there. I like this. Might render it later.
#23, Rust. We're really bringing back the vibe of earlier pieces huh. I like it. It was fun to make. #24, Expedition. No motivation. I just didn't want to do it. #25, Scarecrow. We got a double todayyy I got nothing to say. I kind of just like it. #26, Camera. Polaroid inspired? Also the definition of RUSHING a piece. I do like the absolute CREATURE of a cat I've drawn here though. #27, Road. Loosely based off the artwork I made for the prompt 'Path' last year. I like the lighting. ... I think we all know what's coming tomorrow. #28, Jumbo. ACK NO I FELL ASLEEP AND NOW THERE'S NO TIME ARGHHHHHH I was going to draw Mumbo :( #29, Navigator. Another low-effort one. I was very tired. I also did not have much time to draw because I'd been binging Third Life. #30, Violin. I had to look up a reference image for this. I PLAY violin. I am ashamed. Tried to do like a fantasy weapon thing with the bow. I don't know that it worked. #31, Landmark. Low-effort because I am tired from trick-or-treating. I absolutely did not draw the Relation-Ship because I've been rewatching Double Life what are you talking about And that's it! Might do the DTA, might not, who knows. Music: Lemon Demon - Cabinet Man, Tally Hall - The Bidding, Characters: All are my original designs, apart from 9, 13, 14, 17, 19, and 31. A lot of Will Wood, Lemon Demon, Tally Hall, Bo Burnham, and Mitski was listened to in the making of this project. It has shaped my entire current taste in music.
