107 years ago, During the Calamity, the knights of Hyrule were so tough that they could have defeated Ganon with ease, if only the great soldiers and Sheikah were there to fight… but they weren’t in Hyrule, they were in a foreign land. Back when Link was still training to become a knight, there was a strong, though, Hylian General named Girron who fought with a royal claymore and an ancient steel bow. He had the ability to be a berserker in combat, and he was considered the best warrior in the whole army of Hyrule. One day, he was wondering around Hyrule Castle, when he found an ancient, wooded, trap door. It looked like it had been shut for thousands of years. Girron decided that since he was a royal knight, it couldn’t hurt to just have a look at what’s down there. So he slowly began to pull the trap door open when he heard footsteps. He was afraid of being caught and loosing his position as a general, so he hopped through the small door and closed it behind him. Inside he found a flight of downward spiral stairs leading to a hallway of zonai ruins. At the end of the hallway, he found an empty doorframe that almost looked like some kind of portal. Along the rim of this ancient gateway, it said “Say the name of the last one to use this portal, and you’ll be taken to the land where the first Zonai were born.” Girron did not know what this meant, but he knew this was a big discovery, so after that, he ran through the hallway, up the spiral stairs, and through the trap door, and ran to tell the princess about what he found. He would have called King Roam instead, but he was busy giving a speech in Castle Town. After that, he hurried to show Zelda the ancient ruins he found, and Zelda quickly followed behind. After a moment, Zelda decided to take the doorway out side and call all the Hylain knights to try to figure out the puzzle on the rim, and that is what happened. Most of the soldiers were confused by the riddle, but Sir Slavnick, who knew his Hyrulean history well, understood that the riddle was talking about Rauru, the first king of Hyrule, and a Zonia. He quickly simply said the name “Rauru,” and the gateway started glowing green, and a harsh wind flew over the crowd. In no time, all the knight including Girron were being sucked into the gateway, and they found themselves in a whole new world.
