^_^"d if anyone manages to notice this account, i hope you're dissapointed to see that my first project here is a touhou rambling session this is Komeiji Koishi from touhou project. she debuts in Subterranian Animism, the 11th touhou game and appears in various official fighting games, like touhou 14.5, Urban Legend in Limbo. (her fighting game mechanic is really strange. go stab your brain trying to figure it out!) i think she's a really interesting and relatable character.. there's just a sad and warm feeling whenever i think about the exact concept of cutting a part of who you are to fit into a certain place or to be accepted in one, and what's even unfortunate is that she closed her third eye because everyone dislikes a satori (a youkai species that has the ability to read minds. her sister in the 3th image, Satori(what a creative name lol), is one of them) yet the outcome does her no good and everyone just forgets her in the end (which makes you question the whole "closing the third eye" thing in the first place) and how does this affect her? first! of! all! it!!!!! doesn't!!!!! she's not bothered by how others would perceive her because they CAN'T. she's 100% controlled by her unconscious She has no malice. or volatile thoughts or even a mind to think with she's literally!!! just a girl!!! how could yo u hate her from an outside perspective the state she's in just makes me bawl because it's very unlikely that she lessens her transparency and let people notice her presence, because otherwise no one could. this also makes her appear as an imaginary friend to some children which is sad. i actually hc that koishi is exactly like that to flandre because of my koiflan obsession and how i liked koishi's concepr and flandre's isolation. i have a place inside my brain for the two that i can't explain well. im sick. get me out of here and don't get me started on the japanese urgan legend she's associated with in ULiL. it FITS SO BAD that my eye hurts. they're starting to sting because of how fond i am of this urban legend that i can't stop thinking about it???? whenever i wash my face before going to sleep i think about Mary-san. what if she's right behind me and i feel utterly dissapointed turning to my back and facing the air instead of a green satori youkai who wears a funny hat with a yellow bow. i don't care that it leads to famous interpretations of her being a psychopathic serial killer and (deep breath) KKHTA... she just looks so cool and it's no doubt the best last word compared to the others in the fighting games if you don't know the urban legend, basically how the story goes is a girl moved away from her house and accidentally left her doll named Mary behind. and one night she receives a phone call from an unknown contact, to which she answered it and the person in the telephone says something like. "This is Mary. I'm at the corner store" or SOMETHING and the girl thought it was just some troll until she receives more and more calls from the same contact, every new one states that Mary is gradually getting closer to her location to where it reaches: "This is Mary. I'm in front of your house" and when she goes outside, no one's there. one more phone call however, "This is Mary. I'm right behind you." and her parents came back home to a body in a puddle of blood. how fun. :3 i hate flanderization so much though. i despise how the touhou fandom sees a character and completely rattles their personality like they're shuffling a gumball machine to where it gets 180°ed. and even if i enjoy some of the edgy hints mismatched in some character's fanon, like koishi's, i don't prefer it. if you read FDS however two of touhou's most flanderized character, is unsuprisingly, flanderized. you guessed it i don't have big feelings toward it. like it or hate it you can't deny how cool and scary our beloved koish is interpreted across medias sometimes
"To escape the fear and hatred which other beings feel towards the satori species, she attempted to destroy her mind-reading ability by closing her Third Eye. However, this had the side effect of sealing away her own conscious mind, causing her to lose all thoughts and motives; she could no longer be hated, but neither could she be loved, or even remembered by people who saw her." -a blurb directly from the wiki ● song is Hartmann's Youkai Girl from Urban Legend in Limbo. it's koish's theme song! go listen to it! if you still don't get why koishi would be associated with the Mary-san urban legend: maybe don't leave stuff forgotten?
