Dear readers, Oreo is my little dwarf hamster that just passed away a few days ago. Right when I found out, it took me hours to stop crying. I'm devastated. I have had a few pets die, but I didn't really understand what death was yet, so I didn't quite understand what happened. This was pretty much the first time someone has died, and I actually knew that I would never see them again. Every time I look at her cage I want to cry again. I just want to give her one more hug, it's not fair. The grief has been really on and off for me, like as I'm writing this, I'm okay, but the next moment I could just cry and cry all over again. She really was the sweetest hamster I've ever seen. About Oreo and stories about her, Oreo's full name is Oreo Hamlet (My last name which I cannot say). She is a Russian Dwarf Hamster, so she is tiny. She is seriously one of the cutest and sweetest things I have ever seen. She is so friendly too, and she would always climb right onto your hand if you put it in her cage. She is also VERY energetic; she would run around our house for hours if she could have. We had a little hamster ball, and once we put her in there for about an hour or so, and she was still running! It's crazy how much hamsters love exercise. We don't know exactly how old she is, but we (when I say we or our or something it means my family) got her when she was fully covered in fur. When we got her, I was dealing with some pretty bad anxiety intervals. When my dad told me that we were getting a hamster, all of that anxiety left just for that small moment. When we got to the pet store, it took a while, but we found the hamster section. We walked over, and saw a bunch of hamsters. We looked around the whole section, and found Oreo. She was sweet from the beginning. We walked up to her little glass cage thing, and she instantly got up, and did some tricks. She first got as close to us as she could by putting her paws on her window, trying to get out. Then after a little bit, she would go and do other things to impress us, like running on her wheel. We brought over one of the workers, and she scooped Oreo up. Then we looked for supplies for her, officially adopted her, and then left. We were so happy! I think about halfway through the drive back home, we decided to name her Oreo. She instantly loved her new home, I could tell. She was running around in her cage (that was probably 4 times as big as her one at the pet store). When we held her, she instantly ran around our arms, so excited to be here. She was such an amazing hamster. Please don't be mean in the comments. If you could, you could write a nice message to Oreo. I will miss her deeply, but now she is happy, up in the sky. I hope she gets lots of spinach up there, and knows that I will always love her. I love you Oreo.
