Chapter 12-Christmas is Approaching The Research Classes were getting more and more often by each day. Before, it was there times a week, then, five, and now, seven. And Rosalia was trying her best to balance both school work, friendships, and the Research Classes. She had little to no free time and when there was, she only had around a half-hour to do the stuff that she liked. With all the busyness of her life, she had not realized that Christmas was slowly approaching, and only did when she saw the gamekeeper, Hagrid, drag some Christmas trees. Yet what Rosalia was most excited about was Winter. Winter was her favorite season because she loved the cold and the snow and it was going to be better because now, she had friends to accompany her. And even better, the Research Classes were cancelled for the Winter. With a whole lot of free time, Rosalia decided to go outside in the snow with her friends. She was walking around Hogwarts trying to find Ariana, Jacqueline, Luna, and Everleigh to take them outside. While searching for them, however, she ran into Anthony. "Oh, no," she thought. "Hullo, Rosalia," he said, "I'm just here to apologize because I've been clinging on to you way too much. That reason is..." there he stopped because he knew Rosalia knew what he meant. "So..." Rosalia started, "Friends?" She extended her hand and Anthony shook it. "And friends only," he grinned, "What are you doing now anyway? "Nothing," she said, "I'm just about to ask my friends to go outside with me," "May I come?" "Sure" As the two walked down the halls to find her other friends, Rosalia caught sight of Terry behind a pillar with an angry look. "Now this is going to be complicated," she thought. She eventually found Ariana, Luna, Everleigh, and Jacqueline and the six of them went outside. Rosalia kneeled down to draw in the snow. She drew a simple house made of a square and a triangle. Then, Luna kneeled down and drew Hogwarts beautifully. "That's—" Rosalia paused. "Thanks," replied Luna. Then, she saw Everleigh trying to build a snowman. Luna pulled Rosalia's hand and took her to Everleigh to help her. After they finish, Rosalia felt something hit her back. She turned around to see Anthony holding a snowball and he was throwing it at Ariana and likewise. The rest, including Rosalia, joined them and they all laughed as they were throwing the balls at each other. Then, they decided to divide into two groups of three. In Rosalia's team, there were Anthony and Jacqueline And on the other team, there were Ariana, Luna, and Everleigh. Anthony started counting, and at the count of three, they all started throwing the snowballs at the opposite team. After a few minutes, they all decided to rest. They looked at the castle and Rosalia admitted that it was more beautiful than ever. It was covered in white snow and there was something magical about how the snowflakes elegantly fell on its towers. "I wonder where Terry is," Anthony told Rosalia. "Maybe he's in the common room with a soft quilt on while drinking a big mug of hot chocolate," Rosalia laughed. After looking at the beautiful view of Hogwarts, Ariana pulled Rosalia to one side. "Want to make snow angels?" Ariana asked. "Of course!" answered Rosalia. The two lay on the snow and started flapping their arms and legs. Then, they got up and looked at the spot where they lay down. "Imagine if there's a spell that could bring them to life and make them fly!" Ariana joked. Soon, it got a little too cold that caused the six friends to go back inside the castle and off to their common rooms. There, Terry was sitting on a couch and looked quite disgusted. "Come, Anthony," he said, "I need to speak to you," Rosalia stepped aside because she didn't want any drama while on Christmas. She picked up a book called "Ancient Ruins Made Easy" and started reading. Soon, the boys took the matter in the halls and it was just Rosalia, Luna, and Everleigh. Luna started painting, while Rosalia and Everleigh started reading. The silence and the sound of the crackling log fire was satisfying and Rosalia was at peace. She was so peaceful that she didn't hear the sound of the students laughing out the window. After a while, she suddenly said "Does anybody want some hot chocolate?" The other two nodded and they walked through the halls to get some hot chocolate. Then, she heard Terry's voice. "You guys go on ahead," Rosalia said. The two nodded and went away. She stood behind a pillar and saw that Terry seemed very angry at Anthony, who looked annoyed. "I told you, I don't like her like that anymore!" Anthony said, "We're just friends now!" "Stop lying!" shouted Terry. "I'm not lying!" Anthony said. Rosalia couldn't stand it, so she ran off. She found Ariana and told her all about what she had seen. (Rest in the notes and credits)
"I know you probably don't like any of them in that way," Ariana said, "But if you had to choose, who would it be?" She shrugged. "I like them as friends," she said, "Not like that...but if I had to, I would choose..." She leaned closer to Ariana and whispered something in her ear. "Interesting..." Ariana said. "Well, I've got to go back to the common room," Rosalia told her, "See you," She got some hot chocolate and went away. Time went by quickly after that, and before she knew it, it was time for dinner. They served soup as if to satisfy the coldness of the pupils. Every time a student finished, they would let out an "ahh" of satisfaction. To Rosalia, it would've been wonderful, if the two boys in front of her with the surnames Goldstein and Boot weren't looking at each other with hatred. "This is going to be one Christmas." she thought. ✧✦✧ Author's note: Hi, guys! So sorry for the short chapter!
