Hello, and welcome to my project. This week is National Mental Illness Awareness Week. Around 13.9 percent of the world population has at least one mental disorder. This can range from autism to depression. This week is meant to recognize all the individuals that have mental conditions that affect or may affect their daily lives. Mental illness is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes we can't control what we are born with. However, things like depression and PTSD are indeed caused by things other than genetics. Mental illnesses are not a thing to ridicule or look down on, as it may make certain things like depression worse or cause things like depression.
In fact, depression and bullying can go hand in hand. Bullying can worsen depression, and can cause someone to take their own life. We live in a world of hate, so I want you to walk away from this project and look at our beautiful, diverse world with a new pair of lenses. I personally have clinical depression, and I want to treat others with the same respect I wish for. So, walk away from this project, and celebrate this important week. _____________________________________________ "Melissa, what nightmares do you have?"
