An adventure: Seeking Foraging Discovering You come across complexities Uncover understanding As you seek truth, you reach inward And locate love For yourself, for others For genders, for none As you journey, you justify You unearth joy and treasure it. Once you reach the splendid summit Once you have scavenged your way to a satisfying peak You have to look down. You have to jump off, into an unknown future. Where will you land? In the arms of acceptance? In the pools of politeness? By the barriers of business? Under the pressure of professionalism? By the falls of favor? In the familiarity of family? In the tenderness of trans-normality? Where will you land… If only you dare to leap?
This poem was written by me a few years in middle school when I was debating coming out and what that would mean for me and my family. This is part two of the poem, the first can be found here https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1078709091/
