(Press the I key to toggle infant/adult view!) Scientific name: Proyekus gigantas Alias: Giant Masco Niche: Filter feeder Evolved from: Common Masco Description: Giant Masco, as their name suggests, are much larger than their ancestors, at 25 centimeters long. Their eyes have become smaller in favor of a larger mouth, now covered in a thick layer of baleen. The dorsal fin has become more vestigial, and is barely used at all. Like the Common Masco, Giant Masco cannot close their mouths, and they mainly eat plankton, but may unintentionally swallow smaller creatures. When encountering a predator larger than themselves, Giant Masco will attempt to flee, but are relatively slow and usually won't get far. Life Cycle: Giant Masco usually lay 3 to 10 eggs. These eggs are very soft, and several will likely be eaten before hatching. Giant Masco hatch at around 5 centimeters in length, and grow rapidly over the course of 3 weeks before reaching maturity. They then have 5 weeks left to breed with another Giant Masco to pass their genetics to the next generation.
