IT'S KINDA MILD BUT STILL AND DONT REPORT ME PLZ We back this week B) I hope ya aren't mad lol - - - - - - - - CHAPTER 9 - - - - - - - - That day… it was brighter. Physically, though. Definitely not metaphorically. I don’t exactly know why. Purple was more upset the day before. She wasn’t now. But somehow, I felt worse. Maybe I’m just tired, I thought. I didn’t sleep as well. “Stop. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.” I mumbled lowly. “Something is wrong. I know it. I mean… I don’t completely know it, but…” I was interrupted by a step on a twig. I lifted my foot up. Next to the one I snapped, four more were beside it, in an almost man-made position. Not fully man-made-looking yet, however. Dust and dirt scratched under the twigs made a sort of… I don’t know… flipper shape? I placed the sticks in a way so that they would follow the shape of what was etched in the ground. Stepping back, I took a moment to take it in. A plan of some sort. What plan though? The only thing I would imagine people planning for out here is a shelter. The soil drawing didn’t look like a shelter. I shrugged it off and kept going. Steadily, I approached the stream where our little fight broke out. The sun hit my back through the leaves. I sat down on the bank’s very edge near a place which wasn’t so high above the rushing waters below. A “clop” sounded from my side. I suddenly jerked back when a stag popped up in my face. He tilted his head, possibly puzzled by why a stick figure was here. I smiled, admiring the deer’s beauty. With antlers of that size, “Surely you get tired of carrying those all day.” He sat next to me, still holding his head high. “You hold up, huh?” I sighed. “All that weight on you every day…I wish I could deal with pressure better.” He grunted in agreement. “Hmph.” I scoffed. “And you have to get new antlers every year. I can’t imagine having to change that often…” my voice trailed away as I rubbed the animal’s chin. “Change… it’s a good thing, though. If only I hadn’t shied away from it.” The stag made a confused grunt this time. “Oh. Heh. I guess you wouldn’t know.” I rubbed his chin more. “I work for a moving company. And well… I’ve been using the same old truck for years now, despite knowing that it had problems. It broke down two days ago and now I’m stuck here with my daughter.” The deer had a shocked reaction that made me laugh a little. “You’re an expressive fellow, aren’t you? What was I talking about, though? Oh yes. The truck. If I picked a different one instead of that tin can I’ve been driving, we’d never be here in the first place.” The stag leaped up, looking at our surroundings frantically. “What’s the matter, bud-“ HOOOWOOOO I jumped. A wolf. Hopefully it would attack the deer instead of me. I backed up. The wolf growled. “Um. You’re a good boy, aren’t you?” It barked viciously. “Heh. Yeah. Sure, you are, so eat that deer guy, okay?” The deer looked at me for a few seconds. “What? You are his natural prey.” He darted away in the blink of an eye. “Oh dear.” The wolf crept closer. Closer. And closer… until he was frankly too close for my comfort. “BYE!!!” I yelled in a panic, nearly tripping on my own feet as I skedaddled up the side of the stream. “SOMEBODYHELPME!!!!” I squealed when it tried nipping my ankles. “Quit it, mutt!” I jumped over a large tree root and tripped. “Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh.” As quickly as I could, I lifted myself off the ground and started running again. Then I felt an excruciating pain and tug at my right ankle. I yanked it forward and flinched at the sight. Blood dripped down my foot and teeth marks were scratched into my lower leg. I pushed through the pain and hurried on. How do I lose him? I gazed around me. How come I didn’t think of it before? I zipped as fast as my old legs would carry me, not noticing that I had passed Purple at that moment. Using the very little stamina I had left, I lunged up a branch and made sure my entirety was all safe in the tree. The wolf stared up at me with anger in its eyes. I clutched my perching spot and peered down. “Ha! Serves you right, you stinkin’ dog!” It barked madly then turned around at its ‘new prey.’ - - - - - - - - *laughs evilly* OH BOY THIS IS GETTING INTERESTING NOW >:D Press space trust me :>
