Title: Epic 1989 Otis Europa 2000 (2003 updated) hydraulic lift... Brand: Otis. Model: Europa 2000. Year: 1989. Type: Single ram roped hydraulic with motor room. Logic: Unknown 1980s Otis (Replaced by Stannah in 2003 with a Lester Controls MP 500 controller). Doors: Otis (Orona have replaced the door operator in 2009 with a Fermator one). Speed: 1 m/s. Floors: 3 (0, 1 and 2). Motor: Moris submersible hydraulic power unit. Fixtures: Europa 2000/Series 1. Voice: Originally none (An ALS/Lester voice unit was added when Stannah replaced the logic in 2003). Position of the MR: At floor 0. Starter type: Star-delta. Location: Undisclosed posh flats, Birmingham, UK. These are some nice posh flats which opened in July 1989. This building is really small because it's only 3 floors (0, 1 and 2) tall. There is a lift, though and it's a really nice 1989 Otis Europa 2000 roped hydraulic lift which still runs very smoothly despite being 35 years old. Unfortunately, Stannah have replaced the logic in 2003 with a Lester MP 500 one. They added the ALS voice at the same time as well. And although, this late 90's/early 2000's Lester logic is known to work very inefficiently, this particular one is very well set up since this lift takes less than 2 seconds to charge and it only takes 3 seconds to level. So, it's still a good lift. Also, Orona have replaced the door operator in 2009 with a Fermator one. But apart from that, pretty much nothing has been changed. Also, this lift has american style Series 1 call stations which is rare for an Otis Europa 2000 lift and it also features a quiet but nice sounding Moris hydraulic motor. This lift also goes 1 m/s which is fast for hydro. This one is also really well maintained and it's still running great after over 35 years of use! And also, I put my recorder near the motor room door and I recorded the sound of the hydraulic power unit. Motor room:
