- Hurricane Milton was a highly deadly hurricane that peaked at category 5 intensity on October 7th. Milton was a category 3 when it made landfall on Florida. Unfortunately, southeast Florida was in the most violent quadrant of the hurricane, and over 50 tornadoes were spawned. A total of 126 tornado warnings were issued. As of the sharing date of this project, 27 deaths have occurred as a result of the hurricane. Hurricane Milton was the second strongest hurricane to ever occur in the Gulf of Mexico, only behind Hurricane Rita of 2005. Hurricane Milton is the strongest tropical cyclone worldwide in 2024 (so far.) - See inside for the greyscale and black and white versions - they look kind of cool (in my opinion) :)
Created in affinity - the resolution may be low because when exporting this poster, I used a different method of resampling than I usually do (Lanczos 3 Non-Separable). Much gratitude towards @kqxr, go check out his Hurricane Milton project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1079901476/ I was hugely inspired by his Hurricane Irma project as well: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1076634717/ IMPORTANT NOTE: Some of the info in the project may be outdated because I made the poster while Hurricane Milton was past Florida. The death count and number of total tornadoes may be incorrect.
