“Stop!” Squelch cried. “I surrender!” Storm looked relieved. “Storm of the SkyWings wins!” the announcer called. Cheering came from the crowd. Star was relieved that no one had killed the other. “But today’s games aren’t over yet, as now we have Zenith of the SandWings against Aquamarine of the SeaWings!” The announcer continued to speak, and after what felt like three hundred matches, Star finally was able to have enough peace to sleep. The next morning, Star woke up early to the sound of birds tweeting and the sight of mountains silhouetted along the horizon. A morning breeze swept through. Star realised that the Sky Kingdom might have been a bit uncomfortable during the time of arena fights, but it was actually quite peaceful and relaxing at other times. Star looked behind her and saw Storm fast asleep, just like the other prisoners- including Star’s friends. Star looked at the sky. She watched as SkyWings took off for early morning flights, she watched as the pinky-orange sky faded into a bright blue. “Star of the NightWings?” A voice called. Star turned around to see that it was a bright red-orange SkyWing. “The queen has requested your audience.” “What for?” Star asked. The SkyWing didn’t answer. The SkyWing detached Star and then they took flight towards the Sky Palace. “What’s your name?” Star asked the SkyWing. “Topaz,” she replied grouchily. They landed in the palace. “Ah. Star of the NightWings. Yes. You are going to be in the arena today! Isn’t that exciting! Oh, this will be fantastic!” According to Star, this sounded more exciting to Rose than how excited Rose expected Star to be. Star was not excited at all. Who would her opponent be? What if she was severely injured? “I also hear you have foresight powers!” Queen Rose said. “Oh, what a marvellous day this will be!” Star gulped. She was standing in the sands of the SkyWing Arena, shaking in every bone. “Welcome to today’s match where we have another prophecy dragonet coming to fight! But this special dragonet is a NightWing with the power of foresight!” A bunch of ‘Oohs’ and Aahs’ ran through the audience.
