basically, despite the fact that I have a queen on this board and this guy only has pawns, he still has the chance to get another queen because of the inconvenient positions my pieces are in, so I have to do freaking stupid calculations to figure out how to trade queen for pawn then get another one instead of just chasing him down with my queen (a pawn can turn into a queen if it reaches the end of the board, and the queen is the most powerful piece) anyway, this is a daily game which is the only reason why I have the time to make this kind of calculations oh, and I have to freaking let the guy get his pawn to promotion in order to make sure that I not only trade the queens, but make sure that the enemy king can't take my pawns and make a draw of course, these calculations only work if he does what i'm expecting him to do MAN AND I THOUGHT I'D BASICALLY WON WHEN I PROMOTED
(for context, this opponent has a rapid skill rating of 1300 while mine is 900 so if I mess up he can absolutely pull this out from under me) its like a deranged American football coach writing up ridiculous plays lol update: the guy didn't even play the best response on his very next move and the like 5 minutes I spent coming up with this chart were invalidated lmao
