Scientific name: Ovivoria cottidians Alias: Common Eggsnatcher Niche: Ovivore Evolved from: Dunewalker Desc: As the name may imply, the 30cm tall Common Eggsnatcher eats almost exclusively eggs, although, they may very rarely eat newly born larvae. Their skin, rather soft and easily torn, is a sandy yellow, with dark greyish splotches that resemble small rocks. Most of them live near Typhon's eastern coasts, although many live closer to the southeastern side. They target large clusters of eggs, using their jaws to break open harder shells. Often, they will dig into the sand to hide as they use their long snouts to stealthily grab eggs and drag them under. A male Eggsnatcher's dorsal fin is larger than a female's. Life Cycle: Female Eggsnatchers give live birth to 1-5 young, which spend most of their youth under the sand, the mother digging them out mainly to feed them, until they reach maturity at an age of about 1.7 years old. From there, they lead a mainly solitary life, only coming together to breed about twice a year, until they die at the age of 5 years old (~3.3 if you don't include their juvenile years).
