It lived in modern-day Argentina, probably in the north, during the late Miocene period. It was one of the biggest flying birds, but it's hard to say exactly how big it was. Estimates suggest it had a wingspan of 7 to 8 meters (23-24 feet) or of 5 to 6 meters (16-21 feet). It was a carnivore and soared by using the many wind currents, not flapping its wings much. There are many similarities it shares with living birds, but some are debatable. We mostly don't know much because we don't have a lot of fossils.
