At the age of 6-7 months, a cat gains their permanent teeth and their baby teeth fall out. A persistent baby tooth is when a baby tooth does not fall out, and the permanent tooth grows out at a wrong angle/in a wrong position due to the baby tooth. In most cases, with human interference, the baby tooth can be removed in time for the permanent teeth to reposition and correct themselves. When this doesn't happen, the teeth nearly become cemented into their current position. Since Cascade is a wild cat, they would not get human interference to remove the tooth. The tooth affected would be the right top canine tooth, and this would cause: The tooth being at at abnormal position, an increase in the likely-hood of food and other things getting in-between the teeth, tartar deposits, tooth decay, gingivitis, and periodontitis. Those infections/diseases/etc can cause premature tooth loss (As in, the teeth/tooth would fall out). It also causes crowding in the mouth, and if teeth rub together it can weaken tooth strength and enamel. In some cases, it can also causes a dental interlock which can interfere with jaw growth and development. That wouldn't occur in Cascade's case (the dental interlock), but they may/will experience the common mouth discomfort and perhaps the teeth falling out/getting infected, as well as food and such getting wedged between them.
