--Scott-- I don’t think the ocean is supposed to be purple. Well, just the sand was purple, but the stretch, about 100 feet wide, is not supposed to be purple. Xisuma said something about strange color glitches, but I didn’t believe it. I was just gathering sand to make a cactus farm, when all of a sudden, it just up and turned purple! Well, it was gradual. At first, there were only a few blocks here and there, but soon, it was all purple as I walked along. God, what was going on with the server’s code?? Suddenly, I heard a loud cracking and ripping sound, followed by a small fluttering sound. I looked behind me, only to find my elytra had a giant rip through it, scattering ripped-out pieces everywhere. At this sight, a chill crept up my spine, and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. What could’ve done this? Luckily, I had a backup, and I flew away as fast as the rockets would take me. Arriving at my apartment on the fourth floor, I rushed in and grabbed a sword and crossbow before quickly sending a message to Jimmy and Tango via my communicator. Jimmy, because as the sheriff he might know what to do about it, and Xisuma already had enough on his plate. Tango because he’s smart, and hey, the firepowers didn't hurt. However, I wondered if it was wrong to put them in danger. I ran to the shopping district portal, where I had told Jimmy and Tango to meet me. Tango, a fire hybrid, who couldn't even try to hide his ability due to his hair constantly burning off any hats he’s got, marking him a target, was standing by the edge of the portal, obviously pleased to have an excuse to go into the nether, even if it's only for a quick portal jump. I landed, skidding to a stop, and turned around, noting that Jimmy was in fact hiding in the bushes by the portal, obviously not having had time to bind his wings considering it was early in the morning. “So?” Tango asked as I walked toward the portal. “Why did you call us?” “I’ll explain it on the way. I found something weird.” I hopped through the portal before he could reply. I don't have to wait long before Tango comes through, pulling Jimmy. Jimmy and Tango stare at me. “And?” Tango asks. “There was a color glitch. There's purple sand.” At these words, Jimmy turns pale. “Purple? You're sure?” He then mutters under his breath “It's fine, I’m sure it's a coincidence.” He thinks I can't hear him, but me and Tango’s pointed ears can pick up sounds better than human ones. “What’s a coincidence?” I ask. “Oh!” Jimmy says, startled. “It's just purple generally isn't a good color for me.” I learned a long time ago that when Jimmy drops a subject, not to push. I've never been able to open him up, but he told me he has preemptions sometimes, and they usually turn out to be true. It's a good thing I called for backup then. We went the rest of the way above the nether in silence, with them trailing behind me. I don’t think I'll ever get used to Jimmy's wings, nor that he has to hide them, and whenever I saw a flash of color behind me they startled me. A few minutes later, we’re here. We step out of the portal, and I start showing them along the beach where the purple sand is. Jimmy steps on something that sounds like a twig, looks down, and lets out a shriek. “It’s a f-f-feather that’s c-covered in b-b-b-blood.” Tango stutters, obviously as frightened as Jimmy. I’ll admit, it’s scary. But what’s scarier is what we find next. There’s a giant crater in the center of the beach, and in it, a short guy with brightly colored scarlet macaw wings, messy sandy-brown hair, gray sweatpants, a red turtleneck sweater, black boots, and pale skin lies unconscious. His wings are visibly broken, and he is covered in small cuts and what appears to be burns from rope. A chain made of strange material- bedrock, maybe? No, that’s impossible- hangs down from the waistband of his pants, and on it, a bright white mask. I’ve got a bad feeling about this.
