Click green flag and watch the animation -------------------------------Diwali------------------------ Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major religious festival celebrated in Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism. Both rich and poor celebrate this festival Meaning: The festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. The name comes from the Sanskrit word Deepawali = Deepa Avali, which means "rows of lights". Celebrations: People celebrate Diwali by: * Lighting lamps in homes and temples * Setting lamps afloat on rivers and streams * Decorating homes * Wearing new clothes * Giving gifts * Visiting friends * Sharing sweets * Setting off fireworks My vision/ view on this: It is truly a special time for all of us! It's a time that everyone who celebrates it, young children to old grandparents look forward to! Others may think that " It harms the environment, but we make up for it (mostly) for the rest of the year. I am proud of my culture and all of my festivals, especially Diwali! Also, you can also call it Deepavali ( pronounced as Dee-baa-vali), As we usually use both terms interchangeably! Have a Very Happy Diwali/ Deepavali -Samanvita
