She hides behind a quiet wall. A life too sharp, and bound to fall. Behind the laughter engulfing her chest, is a fractured soul that finds no rest. She counts her steps, her breath, her weight. Gain never comes without pain. In every smile she’s feeling numb. Like everything is starting to fall apart. Behind the smile she puts a show. Drowning under the infinite tide. A fragile heart, a broken mind. Can she be fixed? No, she denies. For every laugh, a piece is lost, a temporary warmth, at a fatal cost. The world demands and she withdraws. Caught in currents, observing her flaws. She feels like everything comes at a cost. The water’s edge, a fear to collide. Where all the fears refuse to hide. Where people see a girl filled with glee, she sees imperfections with every plea. She is dancing on a fragile line. Afraid to fall, trying to shine.
My attempt on an angsty poem type thing! I never wrote poems this long mostly in class. Like the 2-4 line ones. But I figured since one of my friends is making a poem book.. Why don't I try! (I wrote this in dismissal lol- while my friends were playing I was like "yeah let's channel my inner emo!") (I am open to ANY feedback )
