Twelve years ago you saw me Standing down by that river Twelve years ago you saw me You said, "There the moon shines with her." Shining lights in the dark Ripples in the water Shining lights in the dark You asked, "Wherefore art thou separated from thy daughter?" Pine trees looming on the shore Sand fading into skin Pine trees looming on the shore You told me, "It's time to begin." Make careful selection Good use of that inspection Know the direction No perfection Simply objection Show your predilection "Do it all," you advised. Honor your reflection.
More random inspiration for this one (how did I go from extremely dark and emotional poems to these totally random ones lol?) Anyway, I was staring out my bedroom window and saw the city in the distance. It's nighttime as I'm writing this, so the city seemed to glow in the dark, which for some reason made me think of reflections. So... Yeah. This one is a lot more theoretical and philosophical, and I kinda went crazy in the last stanza with my rhyming dictionary, so I can't really decide if I hate this one or love it xD Hope you enjoy!
