Shiya had been invited to come, and she had reluctantly agreed, as she didn’t quite like the now-seventeen girl who hosted this in her basement. It was a less than dazzling party; cheap lights were taped to the ceiling, the snack table was dusty, it smelled faintly of wet cardboard, and the gray concrete walls almost felt claustrophobic. Music was playing from a speaker from the corner of the room, slightly hidden by a cloth to “make it look cooler”, when really it just added to the miserable aesthetic the basement was seething with. Shiya took another sip of her punch, seething herself. Why did she get into this situation? She can’t leave without people noticing; the stairs were visible from every point in the room. But Shiya was sick of seeing the couples mingling on the makeshift dance floor as the lights dimmed a bit to go with the atmosphere. She placed her cup down on a nearby cardboard box- there were plenty pushed up against the wall to make room for the party. Shiya stuck to the wall like a gecko as she made her way to the speakers. Mackenzie was there, chatting the ear off of one of the guests. If Shiya could just... Shiya shimmied around Mackenzie, standing behind her as she slid over to the phone resting on top of the cloth covering the speakers. It was currently playing some Taylor Swift song, and that would just not do. Mackenzie didn't even seem to care what the music was, as long as people still kept seeing her as the queen bee. She invited Shiya for looks, not because she cared. Shiya tapped a few buttons on the phone, changing it to a more alternative song. This one was more the pace for a party, even one in a basement. Mackenzie whipped around, her blonde hair flying as she stared at Shiya. "Excuse yo-" She started, but got cut off by more party guests joining the centre of the basement, clearly enjoying this song much more then the last one. Mackenzie gave Shiya a glare, but went thin-lipped as she bit back any remarks. She was letting Shiya get away with this simply because she wanted everyone at this party to have fun. And Shiya? She was having fun now. ૮꒰ ˶• ༝ •˶꒱ა - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ☆ ˎˊ˗ ꒰ Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed <3 ꒱ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──⋅ ⋅ ── ☆ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
