For millennia, Avaalor dominated the eastern regions of Ligalia. Hailing from the aptly named Avaalor delta, they conquered the Qurmizi desert to the south, the edges of the Önkhrökh steppe to the west, and the Laaglan marshes to the north. The Avan dynasty held a firm grip over its subjects. Orcs, elves, and the men of the steppe were all civilized and integrated in the wider human society. But many were not complacent with this assimilation; and many would perish in futile rebellions against the Avans. But, the empire has grown weak and old with its senile king still on the throne; desperately clinging on to old traditions lost to the sands of time. The powerful vassals he had created decades ago have grown in prominence, and in power. Prince Aleksander Avan IV is set to take the throne. Yet, his younger brother Bellisarus Avan II 'Ironclaw' wants the throne to himself. BELLISARUS IRONCLAW ------------------------------------------ Bellisarus Ironclaw, aged 25. Bellisaurus' most defining feature is his iron prosthetic in lieu of a hand and lower arm. This prosthetic was forged by the most renowned and greatest smiths in all of Avaalor, being meticulously crafted by over 10 different smiths over a period of 2 years. Bellisarus lost his arm when he was 19 fighting in a war against the Jashae Sultanate - specifically at the battle of Hafat-Aljabal. He is most often characterized by his higher-than-thou attitude and his even higher ambitions. He earned the loyalty of many squires, knights, and lords through his charming negotiating skills and his wife's diplomatic training. He holds the most valuable lands in all of the empire - and plans to reunite Avaalor by any means necessary. YEVENA LITHMAAL --------------------------------------------------- Yevena Lithmaal, aged ~7900. Much of Yevena's early life and accomplishments are unknown since paper and writing was far before her time. What little that is known is that she led the Malin uprising of 280, and served a 300 year sentence as a result. After the death of Aleksander III, she had formed her own militia of elves and allied humans to take over the city of Malin, doing so swiftly. She quickly gained influence as an experienced military commander as she swiftly expanded her reach over the rolling steppes and savannas of the south. The only city she couldn't conquer was Josef's Keep, a fortified city with many loyalist soldiers. ALEKSANDER IV ------------------------------------------------------ Aleksander IV, aged 31
