⠀⠀⠀⠀After cleaning up my room when I got back, I started going up the ladder to the attic. Mum would be back soon, and I decided to occupy myself with going through old stuff. ⠀⠀⠀⠀Downstairs, I could faintly hear the record player playing Dad's favorite. I smiled and shook my head. He always listened to it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀By the small window was a large box I didn't remember seeing. I walked over to it and opened the lid. I gasped. Inside lay something I recognized from the posters all the other kids had. Captain America's shield. Why was it here, sitting in my attic? Dad still had it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Nat?" I heard Dad call me, but it didn't register. I lifted up the shield, surprised that it was light. Under it was a suit. Dad's suit of course. But different from the ones in the museum. It looked more...futuristic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Nat?" I turned with the shield in my hands to see him looking at me. "You look good with it," he smiled. "And I guess you want an explanation." ⠀⠀⠀⠀I nodded, setting the shield down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"So, where to start..." he said, sitting down. I sat next to him. "Well, I guess I should tell you that I'm over one hundred years old." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"What? How?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because I'm the Steve Rogers from the future," he said. "And I time traveled back." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"And that's why you're in the ice? Because..." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because my 'capsicle,'" he chuckled, "will thaw in fifty years." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Whoa," I looked up at him. "That's..." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Weird, I know. I didn't choose this. But when Bruce sent me to return the stones, I wanted to come back. To see your mom. To have you." ⠀⠀⠀⠀I smiled and hugged him, "Who's Bruce?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀"A guy I know from the future," he answered, hugging me back. "Just, don't tell anyone this, okay?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Okay," I nodded. "Wait, does Mr. Stark know?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yes, your mom and I knew we could trust him." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Dad, can I tell Tony?" I asked eagerly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Absolutely not," he answered sharply. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Oh, why?" I looked down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because," he sighed, "I'm friends with him...in the future." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"What? Are you the same age or something?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah," he grinned at my shock. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Eww," I said. Dad and I both laughed before I heard a car horn. "Mum!" I jumped up and ran down the stairs, Dad following me a bit slower. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Darling!" Mum smiled when she opened the front door. "I've missed you so much." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Me too," I said, hugging her tightly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Were you and Dad alright without me?" ⠀⠀⠀⠀"I think we did okay," Dad said, standing in the kitchen doorway. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah, but it's always better when you're here," I said, grabbing one of her bags. "Dad was just telling me his time travelling story." ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Steve?" Mum looked at Dad as I walked up the stairs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"It's best she knew," he answered. I smiled and laid the bad on the bed in my parent's room. When I went back downstairs, Mum and Dad were sitting on the couch, a small space between them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀"Come here, Nat," Mum waved me over, and I snuggled between them. "And tell me everything that's happened."
