Welcome to Not Another Incursion, a Sokoban game that travels recursively between game boards to solve puzzles! Beatrice has a problem. She needs to move all of the pumpkins to where they can be picked up by the farmer's wagon, then get herself picked up when she's done to travel on to the next field. She is only able to PUSH pumpkins, not pull or carry them. To make matters worse, the pumpkins need to be moved around two dimensions! She has access to special 'Parabox blocks' to help with that, which let her move pumpkins between different fields (or playing boards). --- The Goal: To complete each level, the player must position a Pumpkin or a Parabox block over each Chequered Square and also move themselves to the player's Home Square. These goal squares may be found on either the Outer game board, the Inner game board, or BOTH! Remember that a Parabox block ALSO COUNTS on a goal square in place of a Pumpkin! Start with the TUTORIAL LEVELS to learn mechanics. https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/6801588/ for Detailed Instructions. Incursion is Mobile-Friendly, but you may find a keyboard more comfortable for puzzles requiring longer solutions. Incursion builds upon experience gained from similar games involving recursive Paraboxes. A set of TUTORIAL Levels are available to fill you in on the concepts. Use the Level Selection button in the menu to switch between MAIN LEVELS, TUTORIALS, etc. Poke Fred in the menu for more advice. --- About Paraboxes: A Parabox is a special block that itself contains an entire game board. There are TWO Paraboxes (of different colours) that recursively connect TWO playing boards (also using those same colours). Use them to move the Player and Pumpkins BETWEEN boards to solve each puzzle! There are currently 20 Main Levels for this game. If you are looking for a harder challenge, check out PARABOX INCURSION which has nearly 100 levels to play, including several made by community members like you! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/772404131/ Parabox Incursion hosts Community-Designed Levels within the game itself! We could do the same for this game, should there be interest. See our Level Code thread: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/647363/ Also be sure to play PARABOXICAL by @colinmacc - ---- Controls: WASD/Arrow keys (or swipe) - move U or Z - Undo last move R - Reset level SPACE - HOLD to Peek at the alternate game board, or press the PEEK Button. Volume - Click the Sound button (Speaker) to select between 0% - 20% - 100% volume ---- Saving your Progress: Use the Import/Export (Folder and Disk) buttons to save and restore your progress. Note that progress codes are unique to your user name and to this game (they are not the same as the codes for Parabox Incursion). ---- Level Editor: Use the LEVEL EDITOR to create mind-boggling Two-board puzzles of YOUR OWN! Press the Board Change button to switch between the Outer and Inner game boards while designing your level. It looks like the PEEK button. ---- Cloud Access: Not Another Incursion stores anonymous stats for how often each level has been solved. Press the TROPHY button to see a list of users who completed the main game! Thanks for Playing my game and Happy Hallowe'en! Remember that you can Save and Load your progress! Obtain your code using the buttons at the lower left of the menu. This REMIX is developed on top of the work of @colinmacc and other artists and developers as are credited below in the original project notes (I listed the parts that I changed; adding another dimension was exceptionally tricky): All levels are original and created by @dave3m, except for designated community levels which are attributed in game to their creators. Parabox Incursion was created by @dave3m with extensive expansion of Paraboxical and the creation of a large number of original levels. Incursion also contains a large number of community levels created by members of the community, which are designated as such and attributed to their respective creators in game. The original Scratch game Paraboxical is based on the game "Patrick's Parabox" by Patrick Traynor, specifically the version made on itch.io by "competor". Title font is modified "Agency FB". Level numbers sprite by @kriblo. Load/Save icons by @awesome-llama. Idea for instant replays by @gregatku. Swipe engine by @noyco. Confetti squares animation adapted from code by @RokCoder. Extending the game to allow for Outer and Inner game boards with Two Paraboxes, managing the added complexity and additional degrees of freedom, supporting staged and extended animations for complicated moves, designing all new two-board puzzles with multiple menus, tutorials, cloud features, and various tweaks & new bits: @dave3m's contribution. The new graphical themes and sprites included for Not Another Incursion by @dave3m. Sounds and music were generated/transformed from the stock Scratch library. The wall graphics were derived/transformed from a single low resolution sample of a base rock tesselation by La Tesselation found here: https://latessellation.artstation.com/ * I have not yet spoken with the artist regarding the origin of this base sample and this art may be changed. The Pumpkin is sourced from public art. Everything else by @colinmacc. Many thanks to @TheComputerCrasher for reporting issues found in Paradox Incursion. Your help was much appreciated! Thanks also to the many community members who have contributed custom community levels that enrich Incursion. #games #mobile #puzzle #halloween #description([Not Another Incursion] Explore infinite recursion in this Sokoban-like paradoxical puzzle!)
