It was dawn on a bright autumn morning, the air was crisp, and the wind blew gently. There were many trees in the forest; the sun’s light hit every tree’s leaves at just the right angle for them to look as golden as a crown. Some of the leaves slowly fell to the ground, as the wind passed by to push them off. The birds chirped softly into the morning, sounding like a soothing melody of a song. Animals roamed around the area leisurely, for they had just awoken to see the morning sky. It looked as if nothing could go wrong, for wasn’t it a perfect day? But sadly, this was untrue. All in a matter of a split second a tree fell to the ground, and it had such an impact that every leaf drifted off the tree. Then in unison every tree was cut down. The animals fled into the closest woods around, for theirs was now gone. Later it is known that the forest was turned into a town. The town was huge, it had numerous families there and it even had a mayor. The streets were made of rigid cobble stone that was uneven, and the houses were made of non-sturdy wood that was highly flammable. Though the townsfolk didn’t care in the slightest about any of it, and they didn’t even know about it. The townsfolk were oblivious to the problems. But these were not the only things that they were oblivious to. They didn’t know what was there before the town was made and what it cost the environment. Sadly, they would never know, for the night that we looked upon this bustling town, a girl no more than 12 set ablaze to the town. First, she poured alcohol all throughout the town, because she knew it was flammable. Next, she lit a match in the center of the town, which was covered in alcohol. Finally, she dropped the match which set the alcohol ablaze along with everything it was touching, and she ran out of the town. The town burned down that night leaving no survivors besides the girl who watched from afar. She burned the town down because she knew what the land used to be like. She missed the soft grass, and the huge trees, she missed the birds that chirped. The town deserved to get burned. She walked away for the burned site, and left that town for the very last time, for she knew she did right thing.
This is a story I made. #Lilithwashere this is also my entry for a contest!
