As the Tavarian-Retentian war marches on, an official response has come out of Yubileynyy in the form of diplomatic objections and sanctions on Retentia. Despite minor protests from the Tsar, the Duma has officially ratified a resolution in response to the conflict in Western Oved. Fearing that continued Retentian expansion into the valuable buffer states of Purgia and Tavaria may pose a threat to Brightsian security, economic sanctions have been enacted on Retentia along with diplomatic objections to the nation. Although many know that the diplomatic objections will do nothing to curb Retentian expansion, the hope inside the Duma is that the sanctions will make Retentia more open to the possibility of a peace deal. In addition, the Duma is openly considering requesting New Palen to moderate the negotiations should the current plan stall out.
