schoolgirl - short story ☆ loading ASSIGNMENT . txt “ two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. for if they fall, one will lift the other. ” - ecclesiastes 4 . 9 she hears the sweet spring cacophony echoing through the gates. it is rose-colored and wild, contrasting sharply with the drab, colorless wretches, who are prisoners but not prisoners, mundane within the moldy brick walls. no one hears it but her. no one is lively and youthful but she. the brick building, stone-cold with the shrieks of immature laughter, is her prison and her refuge. she grows in stature but not in spirit, resenting the tall, ancient people who dominate the rooms of cheerless color. yet she grows tall, uncultured, and wild, surrounded by a cloak of the people she calls home. the people who love her and know her like cubs and their mother, with fierce blazing tempers and fiery joys: love and dismay and hope and sadness all jumbled in their hearts, tossed and battered like the drunk’s dice. but they care, and love, and will not part until Christ or death come for them. days are despairingly hot or deathly cold, pale, chaotic days preying on her young, fresh mind like a vampire. crying out to God one hour and praising Him the next, ups and downs like mountains and valleys but with the intensity of adolescence. oh, how she wishes she’d never been born- until she wouldn’t switch places with an angel! thus she is doomed- and blessed- to spend so many years in this place. childhood is the most precious thing to all who are pure and in their hearts, wish they could return to the simple spring joys and the flowery innocence of a dove. they bewail what they are certain is a tragic future, full of hate and death and despair. they don't know, blinded as they are in their pride, that hope and peace and prosperity are there for those who toil after it. but she keeps going. they keep going, guided by God’s bright lamp of hope. “ life seems impossible but the storm will pass so onward, soldier, onward, dear friend, and fix your eyes on hope. ” life is precious when you share it with friends. love, choco God bless you <3 this was done in half an hour so it's choppy but i hope you enjoy! intended for motivational purposes and helped me vent my recurring emotions ^^' credits . writing . @.bubblily poem . @.bubblily png . pint3rest
