The Clone Republic Chapter 3 "Oh!" Echo fumbled with the transmitter nearly dropping it,"didn’t see there," Emerie smiled as she rested her arms and hand on the rails of the balcony,"Don't act like I didn't see you," "See what," He mumbled running his hand through her hair playfully. She batted his hand away. She glanced at the transmitter sitting on the smooth, sandstone railing. He watched as her gaze landed on it. He sighed and leaned on the rail,"You caught me," "Of course I did!" “Better start getting your stuff. Rex said,” “Riyo said,” “Yes-we are going to talk about that later, she said that Haddock will be at noon,” Echo explained, pocketing the transmitter. “Right,” “Be safe,” Emerie readjusted her bow strap. She looked Haddock dead in the eyes. A long scar from his forehead to his cheekbone like an animal had scraped its claw along his face. His dark brown eyes met hers. They had rescued him from Tantiss only a few weeks after it was destroyed. Hunter's words rang in her ears, be safe. They were really never safe. The only safe place was the base on Pantora, for now. She walked into the Spyglass Strike, Rim and Howzer were also aboard. Riyo came in as Echo walked in the door closing behind him. “Rim we are ready to leave,” Echo poked his head into the cockpit. “Hey there kiddo,” Haddock rustled Emerie's hair like Echo had. She grabbed his hand and pulled it behind her back. “Don't try that again,” She threatened. “I'll try,” He winked. His expression softened,”C'mon we got a long ride ahead of us,” She spun in the chair watching as they emerged into hyperspace, the light blue and dark blue blinding her eyes. Riyo sat down next to her, crossing her legs. “How was Pabu?” Riyo asked. Emerie nodded,”It was nice,” “How's the Bad Batch?” “Their doing fine,” Riyo looked at her. Riyo looked slightly concerned. Emerie ignored her looks,”What's wrong?” Riyo pushed. Emerie would love to spill everything about her concerns about the war but she didn't really want to have a mental breakdown there. Not now. So she simply answered,”Nothing, “ Riyo still looked concerned but didn't say anything. She folded her hands in her lap for the rest of the trip. Emerie sat awkwardly next to her. When they landed Riyo pulled her into a tight hug Emerie wanted to squirm away but she knew it would be useless. Riyo's hugs were always tight and firm. “C'mon,” Riyo grabbed her hand and pulled her up. Emerie out of the docked Spyglass. They were close to the outskirts of the main city of Pantora. It wasn't small but it wasn't big. The main room had a holoboard helping them map out planets, benches made of jagged steel. They were uncomfortable but function over fashion. Another room led into a very small office for Rex. Emerie had never personally been in it; she didn't think Rex wanted anyone in there. One other room was divided by a cloth partition. They were bedrooms, one for the boys and one for Emerie and Riyo, the girls room was much smaller though since they got new clones almost every month. The last room was the medical room. They had gotten a good amount of those health things from a republic venator in a junkyard. In addition that's where all the new clones got the inhibitor chips removed. A process Emerie never wished to experience. Some clones were more aggressive about it but most of the time everything went fine. Most of the time. Rex walked towards Echo. Flare and Bolt were getting talked to by Gattor the scare and the foreheads implied they had gotten the inhibitor chips removed. Emerie was shocked by someone suddenly grabbing her hand. Strike. “Emerie!” He shouted happily. “What?” Emerie laughed. He pulled her into a hug and Emerie eased away easily. Strike was a big softy even though he didn't look like it,”I missed you!” “Strike! I was only gone for not even two days!” Emerie teased him. She would go further with the teasing but Strike had separation anxiety and she didn't want to push it,”Well want is it?” “Nothing,” He looked like he wanted to say something but a Storm and Rim passed by and Emerie knew what it was. She grabbed his hand this time and led him into his room. Onto his bunk. She pulled holopad from behind the coarse pillow. She opened it. Out of it a hologram came in the form of blocks. A house. Emerie had tweaked it so Strike when he was bored and not on missions could design ANYTHING he wanted. He and Emerie had been working on this particular house for a while, but it wasn't any house; it had rooms for every clone. They added a room every time a new clone joined them. “You did Flare and Bolt's?” “Started,” Strike fidgeted with the pillow,”It might take a while,” “Understandable,” “Emerie!” Haddock's cool, clear voice startled her. “Yeah?” She quickly slid the holopad back to Strike. “Come here,”
