new note, nov. 2025, a year after this was released: thank you all for commenting, I'm so glad this is helpful for others! I have trouble thinking of unique responses to comments so just take this as my personal thank you for using this + glad it helps. <3 instead of writing words I decided to program a project to help me count the words I write XD freshly baked to help any swc'er who happens to find it with the painful process of counting words written with physical pen and paper. -Hit the green flag. -Click backdrop or hit any key to add a word. I'm using this to add words as I scan over ones written on paper, so as I'm reading through my journal/notebook or whatever it is, I press space or click once for each word. This will be counted in "Words This Set." -to elaborate: reading over a notecard I may see a sentence like "she jogged over the bridge." I read it in my head (or whisper it under my breath) and press space at the start of each word, going slowly so I don't accidentally hit it multiple times for multi-syllable words (eg "over"). This gets much easier and faster with just a little practice! -If you're counting multiple small things (eg multiple pages of paper, multiple paragraphs, or multiple notecards) then you can hit New Set for each card/page or whatever. That will add the Words This Set number to Total Words, and then set it to 0 for counting the next set. (Basically it's pressing the 'lap' button on a stopwatch.) When you're done counting all your words, hit 'new set' one last time to see the total of all those sets added together! -These are not stored in the cloud or anything, so be sure to write down your total words (or comment them in your wcg studio) whenever you're done using the project. Also be careful not to hit the flag in the middle of counting because that will reset everything. -New as of Nov 5: If you think you've miscounted your current word set, hit the Redo Set button! This will clear the words you're currently counting without affecting the already finished word sets and total. -----Credits idea, "art" and coding all by me :) inspired by/made for SWC in November 2024.
