(Continued from chapter one) That night, Glory thought she was paranoid about the weird look Deathbringer gave her. Little did she know how wrong she was. Glory woke up the next morning feeling fresh. She had a plan. She had grudgingly gone to the newly built rainforest library in the village to study about the infecting fruit. It was called Toxinfruit. The fruit was known to infect and turn the innocent dragon eating it completely wild. There was a CURE though. It was a very rare fruit called Benignfruit. It was way under the rainforest trees in the shadows where Glory and Deathbringer encountered the rainwing. “No,” Glory said. “No way I’m going back there.” She hesitated. This was the cure though. She could save her whole tribe and be an awesome queen. “Ugh, someone has to do it. I better get Deathbringer.” She flew down to the usual place Deathbringer was. He was lying on the foliage, studying his bite from Mango while he was defending Glory, “Deathbringer, I need you to help me find a cure to the fruit Mango got infected with.” He slowly looked up. “Okay su—” His handsome voice cut off with a fit of coughing. Glory rushed over to his side. “Maybe you should stay here while I get some of my other guard.” He sighed. “I feel really weird and tingly in my limbs. I feel like I’m turning into something different.” Glory froze. This was the same thing Mango had said to her before she got infected. “Come on. We need to get you to the healers.” He stopped. “What?” “I said, let’s go!” She grabbed his arm and flew off with him still processing what she had said. He winced since she accidentally put her talons near his bite, but she still held on and dragged him to the hut. Inside, two young rainwing were sorting out their healing supplies. One was bright teal, and the other was green with dark yellow spots trailing down her scales. They both looked up as the Queen herself and her bodyguard dragged themselves into the room. “Hello, my name is Lychee, and my helpers’ name is Fig. How may we help you?” “My bodyguard got bit by a sick rainwing and he says it’s not getting better.” Glory panted. She decided to keep the “infected” part out. They looked at each other. “Ah, that sickness has been going around.” “Very deadly.” Fig added. Glory nodded. “Do you have anything to help him?” They nodded. “We will keep him in the healing center for a few days, and then send a messenger to you when he is fully healed and rested.” Glory felt relieved. “Be good for the healers, alright Deathbringer?” He didn’t seem to be listening to the conversation. “Alright.” He mumbled. And with that, Glory flew off to find the cure.
