A Spooky Time at Bobble's will likely never be finished. I originally started this project in September 2023 and wanted to get it out for October 20th, 2023. This did not end up happening, so I completely stopped working on the game for roughly a year. When I resumed work on it last month or so, my first priority was redoing basically all of the art. Most of the assets were either drawn in vector with the pen tool or slightly edited preexisting scratch assets. I redrew a bunch of stuff in bitmap and was quite happy with it all. I decided I probably needed to start working on the code if I truly wanted to get this Bobble game out for around Halloween. I cleaned up some stuff, added some stuff, removed some stuff, but then I realized something: this just wasn't going to work. I enjoyed making the bitmap artwork way more than doing the coding on this project. Usually, I enjoy coding and like being able to make creative things, but here, I wasn't doing that. All I was doing was trying to recreate something that had already been created. This wasn't a creative or fun project; code-wise, at least. I am releasing two unfinished versions of A Spooky Time at Bobble's. One being my version from 2023, and the other being the current version with new art and some new code. Each project will include some notes about their respective versions. 2024: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/857459169 2023: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1094391964/ Hope you have a good day :)
