Morningpaw couldn’t stand it anymore. She spread her wings, the winds bringing her wherever they pleased, as the apprentice screeched internally. No. NO. /NO/! This couldn’t be happening! How? Why? The young apprentice’s mind felt like it would burst. For her mother was gone. Windstormswoop had fallen off a cliff a few moons prior, and Morningpaw? She didn’t find out until she’d finally gotten her wings back. Morningpaw and Windstormswoop had both been cursed— and only one of them came home safely. “Windstormswoop is d3ad.” Someone had told her the news when Morningpaw had gotten back to camp, and she’d laughed it off, thinking it was a joke, or a cruel prank. But that wasn’t the case, no it wasn’t. And when she saw her littermates moping around, Morningpaw realised one thing— momma was gone. Gone. Gone as in up in StarClan. She blinked, shock pulsing through her silly little mind. No! How? How was her momma gone? She felt like her heart was being ripped apart, and she desperately tried to save it, and she came up with a solution. Cobwebs protect the wound when a cat got hurt, right? So all she had to do was cover it up! So Morningpaw covered up her heart’s injury with a smile, a big, happy and fake smile. That would do! All she had to do was ignore the pain and it’d go away, right? Like scratches! She smiled, gliding “happily” in the big, blue, cloudless skies. She was fine! Fine! Yes, /FINE/! But deep inside, Morningpaw always knew that she wasn’t fine. Why? Why wasn’t it working? WHY? Smiles were supposed to cover it up! But… what if smiles weren’t enough? That’s right! Some scratches needed herbs as well as cobwebs! So all she had to do was to act like she was fine as well! Help other cats! Yep! Helping other cats is easier than helping yourself! Morningpaw was fine now. Yep! /FINE/!
Yay. Excuse my bad writing help—
