| Play it on TurboWarp | (60 FPS) Credit for engine - FindingPepper ================= CONTROLS ============== WASD - Movement Mouse Cursor - Rotate camera Space - Jetpack Hold mouse - Flamethrower 1 - Don't press it, its bugged 2 - Does nothing 3 (Hold) - Switch to arrow keys for rotation ============= PERLIN NOISE STUFF ========== This is legit some big brain stuff, not gonna lie. To be fair, I did know how some games used Perlin noise to create environments, but not the technical stuff. I don't need to explain how it works as you can just follow Finding Pepper's tutorial series on youtube, it is what I used to make this. ( Its awesome ) I added snow topped peaks and sand to the terrain, and some cool UI. =========== PLAYER FEATURES ============= The movement was simple, just... [set (camera y) to ((((height)*(detail)) + (5)) / ((num layers) / (2) )] This is disabled when the player uses the jetpack, though, obviously. Speaking of... The jetpack is kind of cool. I initially tried to make a dash, but when I disabled camera y lock I found I could FLY! And that was too good not to put in. The flamethrower has to be the most random addition to this, but also awesome. I made the player shoot bullets first but then had a brainwave and switched it to fire. Then, with a few tweaks and effects and animation, BOOM! The health bar doesn't do anything yet as there are no enemies, if only there was a tutorial on how to add entities (wink wink nudge nudge to FindingPepper) ================ END ===================== The infinite generation is fun, so try to find some of the weirdest landforms and talk about them in the comments! I hereby challenge you to go to farland coordinates, cause I know that almost every other perlin noise terrain generator has it.
