I'd recommend reading this rather than the actual project because I made a few irreversable mistakes in the actual project :/ [About Me] Hello! You can call me Cryptid. I have been a Gaehive curator since mid-late 2023 (although, I moved accounts, so on this account I've only been a member since the beginning of the year). My timezone is PST (Pacific Time). My age range is 12-16. I'm usually online from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with the occasional breaks inbetween) [Why I Would Be A Good Manager] I believe I would be a good manager because I am respectful, good at acknowledging and solving problems, and very active on the Gaehive. There are multiple times where I have recognized problems on the studio an done my best to solve them. I'm also good at following rules in the studio, and if I ever accidentally break one, I make sure to apologize. I also do the same is someone else breaks a rule. I will politely tell them that they broke a rule, and if they don't understand, I make sure to tell them why the rule is relevant and should be followed. Same goes for trigger warnings. I've also been told by many curators on the Gaehive that I would make a good manager. I have a good reputation and I'd like to think that I'm equally kind to everybody on the Gaehive :] [Some Downsides] Some downsides to me being a manager are; getting sucked into drama/ragebait easily, being a bit awkward, and getting irritated quickly. I'm good at avoiding trolls, but when someone says something simply to anger others, it can get hard to ignore. Same thing goes with drama. I try hard too hard to solve problems even is I wasn't involved. But I'm working on that, and I think I'm doing a pretty decent job on ignoring ragebait/unnecessary drama :3 I'm honestly a very dry and awkward person in general, but I'm better at making conversations online, and if it is a genuinely important conversation I'm having, then I'm more confident and understanding. As for the 'easily irritable' bit, that is mainly from the stress of school. But I'm getting better at have a good temper. I understand that being a manager can have some stress that comes with it, but I'm prepared for that. [Things I Can Improve] Some things I can improve about the Gaehive is the problem-solving abilities and treating everyone as equally. A few things I've noticed is that sometimes, when a serious problem shows up in the Gaehive, some people try to ignore it rather than help solve it. While it's true that, depending on the situation, ignoring can be a good solution, letting the problem sit there can be harmful for the people involved. Like I said earlier, I'm good at resolving issues and staying unbiased. This is good for the Gaehive because arguments and problems can make anyone feel uncomfortable and unsafe. If we want the Gaehive to live up to its motto, "a safe space for all", then genuine issues (not drama) big or small shouldn't be ignored or belittled. Treating everyone equally is also important because, like I said, the Gaehive is a safe space for all. I've seen people being insulted or mocked because of their beliefs or lifstyle when they are simply minding their own business and not hurting anybody. This can make others feel unwelcomed. I think I could solve this issue by reminding people of Rule 1 in the Gaehive-- "This is a place to support each other! In general, be kind to fellow members, and be respectful." [Unique Things That I Could Bring] Things that are unique that I could bring to the position is an addition to the karma system and a few fun activities. Something I noticed about the karma system is that a lot of the time, some people don't know why the karma is so low. And when they ask, nobody seems to answer. I think there should be something below the karma counter that says why the karma is low/high. For example; a troll came and some people were egging it on or messing with it. The karma would obviously go down, but below the counter, it could say something like, "Rule 6 was violated." This way, there will be less confusion and curators will know how to get the karma back up. For the activities, last year on my old account, I did a fun little trivia thing where I would comment a question and the first person who guesses correctly earns a point. There were a couple of these activities, but they have dies out since the middle of 2024. I would like to bring those back, since many curators seemed to enjoy them. [Two Manager Recommendations] 1. / Wade Wade is a respectful and helpful person. I've seen him frequently around the Gaehive and they have proved that he deserves this position. 2. / Charlie Charlie is very kind and has a lot of potential to be a manager. Not to mention, a lot of other Gaehivians have agree that Charlie deserves a position as manager. sorry for yapping so much. I didn't think this application would be this long lol anyways, I hope you have a good day/night! :D
My description in the instructions box was too long, but another person I wanted to recommend was: @cryptic-signs They are very respectful to all curators of the Gaehive, and I've seen them spread awareness about not very well-known topics which is really cool of them :3 hi, this is me a month later. there was another thing I wanted to add, so here it is: -I can also help monitor the reply section of comments. I've noticed that replies that go against Rule 1 could just pass as a normal, respectful argument if the original comment didn't say anything that could start a heated argument. And because of the "Click to see more replies" feature thing on Scratch, it could be easy to skim over the replies. That's all I wanted to add, thanks for reading! :)
