CHAPTER 3 Agent Smith, Ballista, Hazard, and Primal were now driving to their apartment after finishing their dinner. Primal was driving, Hazard was in the passenger seat, and Agent and Ballista were in the back. "We need to go to that diner more often." Ballista suggested. The group nodded in agreement. It was dark outside, the only light coming from streetlights, headlights, and a bar every so often. The Mercenaries never spoke too much when it was late, knowing that everyone was tired. Agent was scrolling on his phone when he got a message from Victim. "I need you here ASAP." It read. "Boss just said he needs me at the office." Agent said. "Why does he need you at such a late time? It's 10:30 PM." Hazard asked. Agent shrugged. "I asked but didn't get a response." Primal let out a huff. "Has Boss's anger issues gotten this bad? I know he's been stressed out recently, but this is absurd!" Agent nodded his head. "I'll go and figure out what he wants at this hour." The rest of the ride was silent. Agent walked into Victim's office to see papers on the wall attached with Red string. "Boss!? What is this?!?" Agent cried out. He got no response from Victim. "Boss..?" Agent asked. He snuck around his boss's desk to find Victim sitting in his chair with his head in his hands. "Come on Vic. Lets get you home." Agent said. Alan was just getting some tea before going on his computer to look at the news one last time before bed. He peacefully scrolled through an- Wait... *peacefully*..? Where were Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue? Alan looked in files, in their house, and even on apps he barely used. He knew something was wrong. Fury and fear started to boil in him. "Why did they leave?" He asked himself. "Where are they?" He pondered. Alan sighed and went to go get some sleep. Sadly, he couldn't. Those stick figures were always getting into trouble, but this... This felt different. He thought about all the stick figures he made in the past. "The Second Coming... The Chosen One... The Dark Lord... And V-" Alan couldn't finish his thought. He tried to shake the thought of Victim away, but it stayed. The memories of their first and only encounter played in his mind for the rest of the night.
