[]Disclaimer: I am not anti furry, I am not against it, I am technically a furry but I’m not 100% sure but I’m definitely (at least currently) not the type to wear a fursuit[] (BTW a lot of slashes and all that because I’m not doing this just because of furrys) Ok so I noticed a lot of the time when someone has a animal OC that they make they have to say not a furry quite a few times so that people don’t get that wrong often and I just wanna say a few things First of all, there is a difference between people who enjoy drawing animals (or mythological creatures or pokemon etc) for any reason -mine is hatred of human anatomy lol- are not automatically furry. There are certain things that non-furries can like that I feel like doesn’t force them into being a furry. Like for example protogens! I feel like you don’t have to be a furry if you like protogens, I feel like it was originally planned as a kinda furry thing but I feel like it’s kinda become more of a all around thing than anything else! Second thing, people should feel safe to draw/create and share what they want and not have to explain that they are/aren’t a furry/therian. I’ve noticed a lot that people share and emphasis that they aren't a furry just because they have animal OCs and I feel like unless you want to because of a lot of new incoming people to your account who don’t know you aren’t a furry or therian or smth, you shouldn’t have to. Thirdly (more rant for off-site people lol ), I’ve noticed on other websites, people have to constantly make connections or over work themselves and make like 20 giant art pieces per week just to feel like they get noticed whilst people sharing art by others and either not crediting or crediting in like comments and not even saying where from just the person get views and likes and upvotes and all that so much more easily than people who put loads of effort into their art and get overlooked a lot (like for example there’s a off site artist called holycrusadorvaporeon who puts lots of effort in their art but gets overlooked because it’s slightly more pixelated which isn’t their fault, it’s the program they use but than some random person posts art and things people are able to understand the crazy small watermark and they get like 1K likes) so im gonna do a off site experiment where i post a drawing made by someone else and credit it than make a Christmas drawing of my OCs and see how they do compared to each other. Anyway im still adding more stuff to this project so if you have something that you’d like to rant about than comment and I’ll look into it and add it :P
