Welcome to the Advanced Evolution Simulator! All you have to do is click the green flag or go full screen. This begins evolution. You will see two blue dots in the beginning. They reproduce asexually (you will have to keep an eye on them, because they can occasionally die before breeding). After a few minutes, you may notice the offspring of one generation being different then their parent. Those offspring will in turn pass on their appearance to the next generation, and eventually a generation may emerge entirely different from the original. You will be able to see entire entire species appear and vanish in the blink of an eye, and witness the miracle of evolution.
For those of you curious about how this is possible, let me give an explanation. Each individual has it's own genetic code, which is translated by the organism into instructions on their color, shape, speed, etc. When the organism mutates, which only occurs once at a random time in each individual, it selects a random number in the code and sets it to a new one. This doesn't change the organism, because it already translated the code upon birth, but the new genetic code is inherited by the offspring, which will express the mutation. This leads to a large amount of changed offspring, however, there are natural boundaries to this process. For example, the mutation would have to happen before the offspring have been produced, and the mutation would have to be in a gene(digit) that alters the appearance of the individual.
