Long version of the storyline description: You open your eyes to a bright light shining in your face and the uncomfortable feeling of ice on your skin. It takes you a second to recollect why you’re here: you were one of the few chosen to make an intergalactic journey to a distant solar system and build the foundations for a new human civilization. “Are we there yet,” you hear someone mumble as you and your companions stumble out of your cryotubes, looking towards the person in the doorway of the room. You recognize the long, dark hair and piercing brown eyes of your ship’s researcher and botanist, Bookie. “Not quite,” she said, projecting her voice so it could reach those in the very back of the chamber. “There’s been a…situation, and I need you all to follow me!” Still feeling disoriented and not having any other option, you and the rest of the crew followed Bookie through the ship and onto the flight deck, where a sight catches your breath in both awe and fear. Gigantic tentacles slide across the ship, almost blending in with the void of space if magenta and cyan strips of glowing material weren’t streaked across them. There were various alarms going off all over the room, and your pilot, Chris, a tall figure with shaggy blond hair, was running around the massive control panel, clicking random buttons in such a way that you couldn’t tell if he knew exactly what he was doing or if the opposite was the case. “Great, you’re here!” The third of your leaders stood in the center of the room, two brown braids bobbing behind them and glasses perched on their nose as they tried to hide their worry. This was Aurora, your captain, and gesturing to the tentacles behind them, they said “on our way to the system, we got attacked by this…creature. Bookie, Chris, and I have been trying to get free of it, but we can’t do it alone. Could you all help us so we can get to our destination?” You looked around at the others and slowly nodded, the others agreeing. After all, you had no other choice if you wanted to finally get off of this starcraft.
