TL;DR - I’m leaving Scratch, but moving to other sites by the name “sylvurrlights”. Hey everyone, Sylvurr here. So as you can see by the title and thumbnail, I’ve made the decision to leave Scratch. No, this is not a joke or a prank, this is a decision I’ve been thinking on for quite some time now. I promise you that no one did anything wrong so don’t worry about being a benefactor to this decision. This decision was made not out of a hatred for this site or anyone on it. Being on here or even just the thought of logging in has started to take a toll on my mental health and makes me anxious for a few reasons that I’d prefer not to specify. Not to mention, I’ve just outgrown it and I know that I can only progress my work in other places. Ever since I found this site, I’ve been inspired by so many things on here and it was joining Scratch that was when I truly got the motivation to grow in my art skills, which I achieved and will continue to work on. My progress and growth from account to account, from project to project is quite substantial if I do say so myself. But this site helped me improve more than just my artwork. The friendships I’ve made on here throughout the years have helped me grow as a person tremendously and taught me lessons I will never forget. I’ve matured in so many ways and I can only hope to continue to grow in both my artwork and as a person. And it’s thanks to you guys that all of this was possible. Everyone I’ve interacted with on this site— including the people I didn’t get along with— have helped me grow so much and have been a constant inspiration to me and my growth. I’ve learned a lot from this community. You all have continued to inspire me in many ways and will continue to do so, even if you remain as old friends from that time in my life. And I know that just as you’ve been inspired by the “bigger” artists on Scratch, you will inspire younger artists as well; it’s a continuing cycle and it’s a beautiful one. And I will be forever proud of that. But there also comes times where even though you’ve had great memories with the things you’ve loved, you have to leave some of those things behind. Maybe you outgrow them, or maybe you drift apart. But you’ll always have those memories to cherish. This may be the end of a chapter in my life, but also serves as the beginning of a new one. And that is where I say my final goodbye to Scratch. I love you guys. Thank you all, for everything. And for the very last time, Sylvurr out. :)
Artwork: -Sylvurr-, now known as sylvurrlights. Image description: A lightened terracotta colored background with the outline of a lynx. The lynx is walking away but facing back towards the viewer with an affectionate gaze to convey the bittersweet feelings of leaving this site. The lynx is also carrying a bag on their shoulder. There is text that reads “Until we meet again.” Questions to answer: “What about payments?” If you’re paying for a character I own, you may keep it without finishing payments. If I had been paying for a character you own, you may keep whatever character that was as well as the payments I’d already completed. The characters I own on this site will never be traded or given away and I will cherish them forever. “Can I find you again?” Of course you can! I’ll be going by sylvurrlights on multiple sites so if you want to see me again, just look for that username. If you feel unsure that it’s me, you can always ask. “Are you deleting your account?” Nope. I’m keeping it up as a memory of the great times we’ve had on here. I’ll stay on for a few days to say goodbye and answer questions but I’ll be permanently logging off after that.
