Ok so I watched the Owl house. Twice and um I'm think to do it as many times as I can while my Disney subscription lasts. A couple years ago, my friend told me about the owl house and recommended it to me because of Lumity. She was in the Fandom since the beginning, and after getting Disney plus I watched it. That was about 2 years after she told me it existed but hey I watched it. My initial thoughts were that it was only full of implications but nope. Dana gave us depressed children in sort of realistic situations. And I am obsessed. And sad. It makes me cry at night. Literally. So the big question probably is who is my fav character? I have a list- all of the characters are obvious choices but don't you think there is a reason why everyone loves them? Ok, my number 1 spot is shared by Hunter, Eda, Viney and Amity. You can't change my mind. My 2nd place goes to Lilith, Skara, Vee and Masha (Veesha is amazing!!!!). Everyone else except for any jerks get 3rd place because I can't hate on anyone except maybe Belos, Kikimora and etc. Ok so why is it amazing? First of all, there's a saying (i think- or my book club invented it. Either way, it's very true) When reading books, you would go for children's books for good plot, and young adult for really well developed characters. So what happens when you have someone who knows how to develop characters and character arcs but have them make a children's show? The Owl House happens. In its core, TOH is a children's show, yet even filler episodes have some crazy lore to them *cough* Hooty's episode *cough* Anyways... There is a lot of progression throughout the show and it is shown very well. For example, the intro change. You know when there's that part in the intro music that goes like a harder noise? In season 1, it shows King's toys collapsing. Sure, that foreshadows when he brought them to life, but when you think about it, their biggest problem was exactly that. But in season 2, we get a glimpse of the villain- Belos. Like S1 was supposed to please the audience and tease S2, preparing them for the next 2 seasons. Am I sad it finished too early? Yes. Do I wish it was longer? No. I think the fandom did a good job writing their own versions of what happens behind the scenes and after. But who could say no to a continuation? Tho Disney did us dirty on April 1st. I'd happily rant for hours but I got to cut this short for now.
Finishing Gravity Falls! I'm on ep 11 of S2 :). I've actually watched the final episode once as I was flicking through Disney Channel as I child, but it was only the end and for a couple of minutes. Edit: Why does Ep12 S2 sound like they're talking about the Boiling Isles? Like the dimension leaks etc. I bet Ford is Belos in an alternate timeline lol. Edit 2mins later: Stan has a mullet. Hah Belos is a fusion of them both. Also there's a weird glyph that burned his back but no spoilers. See! Edit 2 days later: I finished Gravity Falls!!!!!!!! More coming later!!!!!!!!! Edit 2 secs later: Remember when I said I've watched a bit of Gravity Falls on Disney Channel? Well, I haven't watched the Owl House because the episodes were always during the night. I think I saw a glimpse once because an episode of the Owl House felt soooo familiar for no reason. Coming from a very homophobic country, no surprise.
