Chapter 5: Yan {Mingyun} {Merged Reality} Silence. Ever since finishing the books titled *Mingyun Alternate Realities* and *The Two Sorcerers* the two have sat in stunned silence. None of this should be possible. If everything they had read were to be believed then.. well then they were quite literally doomed. According to the books there was not one but TWO galaxies that were originally one. However before there were two galaxies there were two very powerful sorcerers who resided in the true Mingyun City. These two sorcerers were gifted by the gods of long ago with powers that would help them protect the people of this planet. However there was also a third sorcerer who was chosen by the goddess of evil to destroy the planet because her significant other betrayed her and helped the gods defeat her. However the battle was intense and when the goddess of evil was slain Mingyun was destroyed beyond repair. So the gods out of their compassion sacrificed themselves to return Mingyun to its previous glory along with all the lives that were lost as collateral damage and they also erased the memory of the war off the planet so that nobody remembered what had happened except the three sorcerers who were the only ones who remembered the battle. However the gods' untimely sacrifice ended up ripping a hole between space and time creating another galaxy threatening to swallow the whole planet up in a black hole. The two sorcerers were forced to band together with the third to seal the hole. However the two secretly planned to sacrifice the third in order to seal it completely. The third however got wind of this plan and right before the two were about to push him through the dimensional black hole portal thing- (Yan sighed mentally as he recalled the details) the third dragged one of the two with him and the gate between the two galaxies were sealed. And ever since then the two galaxies remained separate with nobody but the sorcerers knowing about the other's existence. Until now of course. Yan kept a close eye, or eyes if you will, on Dar's expression as he took this all in. The demi-human looked mortified and Yan couldn't blame him. "But this explains nothing." He eventually spoke. "This has nothing to do with why we're here." Yan nodded his agreement. The stories didn't answer any of the questions that Yan had asked himself since arriving in this prison of a room. Yet the answers were there all the same. "Now that you have the basic understanding on what has happened we have decided to allow you to voice the questions that you undoubtably have." Yan jumped as the cloaked figures appeared. Seemingly apparating into their midst silently like ghosts. Yan however recollected himself quickly and fired the question that had been bothering him the most. "Why are we here?" "You both have encountered one of two sorcerers in a different form." Yan blinked exchanged a bewildered look with Dar who ,like him, seemed to not know what the figures were talking about. "With all due respect." Yan huffed "I'm pretty sure I'd remember meeting an all-powerful sorcerer." The cloaked figures gave Yan a blank look and their gazes dropped to the cat in his arms that had remained blissfully silent ever since they'd left the city. Yan gaze flickered between them. "You're mental." He finally said after figuring out what they implied. When they just continued to stare at him he backed away. "You're mental." He said again unable to form another coherent thought amongst the tide of them swirling inside his head. Dar was frantically shooting glances between them oblivious to what Yan had just figured out. "What?" The demi-human pipped nervously. "Yan? What's going on?" Yan took a shaky breath to steady himself before turning towards Dar. "Assuming that these cloaked hooligans aren't crazy-" he took another breath "Then your cat, Mitten, and mine are... the two very powerful sorcerers." Dar blinked "But the story said one of the two was pushed into the dimensional portal so how can both of them-" One of the cloaked figures cut in. "The two galaxies are now.. temporarily merged. While in this state the balance between space and time is unstable. Previously you both lived on one of the two galaxies, but then one of the two sorcerers used a substantial amount of power, to do what I am not sure of, and that opened a portal that transported one of you to this version of Mingyun. However like I said before- the galaxies are now partially merged so there might be some similarities between the two." Yan took a moment to process this new information. If that was true then that would explain why he had never met Dar before they bumped into each other. And if that was true that meant that he had to have been the one to travel between galaxies because there was no way that he could have possibly gotten out of that zoo incident unscathed unless something unexplainable happened in between. However he kept it to himself.
If Yan had been able to travel between worlds, could it not have just been him crossing the boundaries of reality surely others would slip through too? Some lost...others seeking something, and a few with darker intentions perhaps. What exactly were they getting themselves into? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next: Previous: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1006117486/ First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/933901079/ Thumb: @TrynitySky Character backstories: @TrynitySky Feel free to comment if you would like a notif when the next chapter is released!
